Trying the WILD approach, having issues going into the dream

I have been trying to go straight into lucid dreaming before even having decent dream recall(Brilliant -_-) the last few days. I decided the WILD approach seems common and successful, so I tried it along with binuaral beats. I listened the first two nights to the beats to calm down, relax, etc. They helped me get into (delta I think its called?) state, or really relaxed state, but did not put me into sleep paralysis. After only using the beats twice, I can lay down and easily relax within 2-3 minutes, to where my face feels heavier, my arms, hands, legs, feet are like sleeping, or relaxed.
Problem is SP never really hit me(I wasn't moving at all), and I remember the next step to lucidity through WILD is thinking of a memory, or something you can remember a feeling of, a smell, sight, sound, etc(any sense) of vividly.

I get a lot of darkness, then a slight thought. I try to rub my hands(mentally, not physically), feel them, see them, etc to pull myself into lucidity, but I just end up losing the thought, having it as just a thought. Not a dream..
After a few trys I just end up falling asleep, and waking up remembering nothing.
Is there something wrong with my creativity, something I just need to practice every night, or what?
For sleeping arrangements, I try the WILD on my initial going to sleep at night, since I never wake up in the night. It is mostly dark, completely quiet, and I sleep in kind of a lazyboy, dual chair..thing.. >.>
I.e, I can't lay completely horizontal, but I can lay still, fairly comfortable, and have been sleeping on it for over a month and a half.

After reading some other topics, I heard WILD only works if you are right before REM sleep, so it has to be in the mornings, or right after a dream, waking you up, then you do the WILD?
I sleep all through the night not remembering my dreams..
I am at rock bottom for dream recall. I remember about one dream a week.
I suppose before going to WILDs, I need to relax at night, do some mantras saying "I will wake up after each dream, and remember at least a bit of what happened.", and keep a journal close to write any and all snippets I think of?
Sounds like lucid dreaming is a bit far off for me..
I guess I'll practice the mantras, some RCs for a hopeful DILD, and report back with the results.
My dream journal on here may remain empty for quite some time >_<

Hey TehDalek! Have you taken a look at these yet?

Mzzkcs Comprehensive WILD Guide - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I suggest you find an anchor, something consistent to keep you awake without keeping you too alert. You can read more about anchors in the second link.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Okay, I have read them, thank you for the information. May I also ask a quick question about naps?
I never take naps during the day, but every guide I see seems to mention naps. I thought they were normally taken six or seven hours after waking, but the guides all say if you want to induce lucid dreaming, you have to be in an REM cycle, just one-five hours after waking.
I just woke up an hour and a half ago, if I went back to bed, does that mean I have a greater chance for a successful WILD?

I'm sorry this reply is a bit late

And yes, that is called Wake Back To Bed or WBTB. And it does increase your chances of getting lucid because when you wake up a few hours into sleep, you're in REM. So when you wake up, you stimulate your mind so when you go back to sleep, you will have awareness and have a better chance of being lucid once you are dreaming.

Everyone is different though, that's why it's important to know your sleeping cycle so you know when you have your REM period.
