I have not made many new threads for awhile, so I will throw this one out there. Hopefully someone can get some LDs from it.
This is a simple method for WILD with a small WBTB element. Turn your snooze alarm to something that is not too shocking. On I-phone there is a 'birds' alarm that I use, it just sounds like birds, so it does not jar me awake. On the i-phone you can also set the alarm to fade-in, and I use a 2 minute fade in to prevent a jarring awakening.
Set your alarm at the 6.5 hours of sleep mark. Set the alarm on some setting like the birds one. Set the snooze at 30 minutes with 2 minutes of fade-in. I also keep a recorder by the alarm, but it is not required.
You may very likely be in REM at the 6.5 hour mark, and any time after that. When the alarm goes off, hit snooze and start repeating a word in your head. Keep the mantra ultra simple. I use 'Thank You' or 'Dream.' Attempt to stay aware and watch for a dream, but do allow yourself to sleep.
30 minutes later when the snooze goes off, write down or record only one or two words relating to what you dreamed. Do not allow yourself to fully wake or worry to much about remembering. The words recorded should be very basic, like "school lunch"
Repeat the process every 30 minutes until you actually need to get up. This allows many short WILD attempts in one night. I have good luck with it; try it out and have fun.
