I'm trying WILD tonight, please comment if I'm doing anything wrong

Okay, so here's what I'm going to do. I always go to sleep at 10:00 or so, so I'm going to. I'm going to bring my phone up with me and set an alarm for 3:00 AM, because I've noticed that's when I always seem to wake up in the middle of the night. When the alarm goes off, I'm going to go to the bathroom, read 10 pages of my book, and start the WILD thing.
Please comment if I'm doing anything wrong in that part or the following part. This is how I'm going to do the WILD thing.
I'm going to lay down in my normal position, and focus on breathing, and relaxing my muscles. I will not move if I can help it. I will repeat to myself, "I will transition from being awake into a dream." and then start to count up, and try to visualize the numbers being written on a chalkboard. I'll try to hear it and stuff too. When I'm visualizing the chalkboard and I feel myself basically losing consciousness, I'm going to try and envision myself inside the room with my chalkboard, and hopefully I'll be able to transition into the dream and be inside that room.
This is my first time trying to do WILD, so I know I'm doing this wrong. That's why I posted this. Please comment what I'd be messing up on if I did this tonight, and what I could change to be more successful.

That's not a bad plan. But you should not be trying too hard.

When you envision the room with chalkboard, that's a good way to start the dreaming process. Just don't be surprised, if some other images start forming. Don't try to controll it, just observe passively.

Don't forget, you need to fall asleep in order to dream.

What I do is just trying to fall asleep, while I repeat my mantra. That should keep my mind awake, until I start seeing images, or have some sensations, or I just get the feeling that I'm dreaming. You don't always get the images or sensations, and you still enter a dream.

Check out this WILD (sageous). Good luck
