Hi Everyone,

I've been having a lot of WILDs lately and something has made me question if they are, some of them anyway really what they seem.

As you all probably know a WILD is where you go from being in an Awake state and fully conscious, to a Dream state whilst retaining your consciousness.
I've been trying an Astral Travel "Falling" technique the last few days and have found something that makes me doubt just how many times we think we WILD we actually do!
The first 2 nights doing this I would have said 100% that I induced a successful WILD with no loss in consciousness, going through Sleep Paralyses and then moving out of my body.

Last night however I did the same technique, believed I hadn't lost consciousness, felt SP then after a minute or so moved out of my body.
When I became Lucid though I realised some things were wrong.
When I got out of my body I wasn't getting out of my body lying on my bed at home, but was getting up out of my body off the floor of my mates house a few miles down the road.
I then realised that for the last minute or so before imagining falling (inducing SP) I already knew I was in my mates house even with my eyes closed trying to WILD.

What has obviously happened is just as I'm about to lose consciousness and fall into the Dream state, I've thought I've caught myself and stayed aware, conscious and am still trying to WILD.
What's really happened though is I've slipped straight into a Non Lucid Dream where I'm trying to WILD! I still feel like I'm fully conscious and that I'm awake because that's how you usually feel in Non Lucid Dreams.

The only thing that made me know this wasn't a true WILD was the fact that after I slipped into the Non Lucid Dream it was in a different place from where I know I'm sleeping when I become Lucid.
If I'd have slipped into a Non Lucid where I'm laying in bed at home on my back trying to WILD, I would have been sure I'd retained full consciousness.
Then when I expected feelings of SP they would have happened, as my mind would create them (as I'm already Dreaming without knowing), then it would have acted like a sort of big Reality Check, I'd become Lucid, move from my body thinking I'd gone straight into the Dream state whilst retaining consciousness the whole time.

Really however I would have gone from a Waking state, to a Non Lucid state, imagining SP from the Non Lucid state, then into the Lucid state.

Hope that all makes sense.

It doesn't really matter in the end as you still become Lucid or Out Of Body (whatever you want to call it,) just thought it was an interesting observation.
