Question about entering a dream from "darkness"?

I tried WBTB WILD this morning and i think i almost succeeded!.....but not quite

I woke up after 6 hours of sleep and stayed up for about 20 minutes. Then i lay down and tried to relax and maintain my consciousness while my body fell asleep trying not to focus on any thoughts, which was really difficult because i was so excited i just couldn't stop thinkin about the upcoming LD.

But since I was very tired, I soon started letting go of those thoughts without even realizing it. And then suddenly i felt my entire body vibrating like.. crazy. It felt like i was on some electric waterbed or something. I think i saw a bunch of colorful dots squirming and heard some very loud white noise of some sort too (I would've freaked the hell out and just woken myself up had i not read a thread a few days ago about HH somewhere on the forum). They distracted me a little bit but i somehow found them strangely comfortable...lol

When it stopped, i did nose RC and I COULD BREATHE!!! and..... nothing happened. I thought i was supposed to be transported into a dream at this point but nothing. I couldn't see anything and i was just in "darkness". Then i felt like i was waking up and i didn't know what to do. So i tried to open my eyes hoping i would open my dream eyes and start a lucid dream, but i guess it wasn't such a great idea. i woke up for real.

I did nose RC again to see if i had a FA, but nope i woke up for real Has anyone else had this happen? How can i enter a dream from the "darkness"?

Next time you feel that you can breathe through your nose or the next time you feel a strong weird sensation take a chance and get up!

You were probably laying in a dreambed in your dreamroom trying to transition into a dream you had already transitioned into.

With more practise you will be able to recognise different states of consciousness, but for now just get up when you feel like it to learn by doing.

From my experience most of the times when we worry about transitioning, we have already transitioned...
