      My WILDing Experiences

I have restarted my lucidity attempts this summer for real. I really, really want to become a seasoned WILDer over any other induction technique. Well, my experiences have been very, very weird. All of them fails.

First time (About 10 months ago): I started it all very scared, but I just layed there for about 25 minutes using a mantra and all, and after about a minute of HH I woke myself up, exhilarated and a little scared.

Second, third, and fourth time (All of the rest are within a month of posting this): Stayed in place for about an hour. Achieved nothing though I used the same WILD technique

Fifth time (Day of posting): I used a technique that required an attempt to relax, visualize, but mainly to fall asleep. I was there for about 45 minutes before getting up, another fail. Note that this one was the closest I feel I've gotten, minus the first one.

I understand that HH or SP is NOT the goal. That being said, the second time I felt the SP course through my body. All of the succeeding ones, I didn't. In every single one of them, I saw maybe one or two color pictures, but nothing stayed; the same could be said for the noises.

Like I said, I really want to become a seasoned WILDer. And I feel that the technique used in the last one is going to be the one that works for me. However, I really feel like I don't understand where to go, or how to learn from my failed attempts. Clearly, the simple LDHSW (as mentioned in attempts 1,2,3 & 4) doesn't work.

Anyway thanks very much for any advice I receive.

For WILD you need to fall asleep while being aware, the technique you used the fifth time sounds ok, though the WILD is way of experimenting, you don't just need to blindly follow the tutorial or something but try to change different things, like WBTB/WILD timing or an mental anchor, because for WILD to be most successful you need to time REM well and many things vary from person to person.
Are you using WBTB? If not, WILD is most effective during WBTB and naps and on normal sleep time it's pretty rare to be successful.
Now for WBTB itself, try different times, you need to find a good time where you are able to keep awareness while still being able to fall asleep, and it also should be timed good with REMs so you go straight into it. Also WILD is not a waiting game, time is not important and falling asleep unconscious is better than not being able to at all, after all you will have chances on DILDs too.
And also SP is not related to lucid dreaming in any way and it's inability to move that is SP, not hallucinations or feeling things. It's very rare, most of people don't ever experience it and only people with disorder experience it regularly, you don't need to worry about it. http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...mystified.html
Either way, keep practicing regularly and don't give up, it can take varied amount of time from person to person but you will definitely reach it.
