      Dreams... Small?

Hi, I am very new to lucid dreaming and I haven't had one in a while. The first one that I was able to control was where I was a wizard and could make things appear, but back to my question. When I am laying in bed and a dream starts to come to me, it seems sort of small. Like watching a TV from really far away. This can make it hard to concentrate. Any ideas?

If you wait a little longer, it may become bigger. Or change into something else. Is this when you WILD? If yes, you don't always see images (HH). Sometimes you get different hallucinations, or non at all. They should not distract you though from your goal of falling asleep while keeping your awareness. Good luck.

Just keep on going and let it play out until it gets bigger. It sounds like you just have to focus your awareness more on the dream that's forming until it encompasses all of your senses

Check out Sageous' Class on WILD, it has a great section on Self Awareness.

Is it just imagery coming to you while you're still in control of your waking body, or are you able to move in this small undefined dream? If you're still in your normal body then do what others here have suggested, but if you're able to move in the dream already then you can try various techniques like rubbing your hands together, spinning, touching objects in the dream etc to solidify and clarify the dream. I've often had dreams that seemed so distant and blurry but a little rubbing my hands together would make them as clear as day.

I tend to find though the lesser the clarity of the dream, the harder it is to move inside the dream (sometimes being completely impossible), this is why I rely on hand rubbing the most since for me personally when movement gets harder in a dream my hands are usually the last thing I'm able to control before I can't move at all or wake up.
