I was literally in mid-sentence - no loss of consciousness at all, no deliberate attempt to keep still, but for some reason whatever part of my brain that governs these things decided I had lost consciousness and put my body into sleep-mode. The transition was silky-smooth: no itching, no SP, no vibrations, no hypnogogia… the street-scene came as a total shock. I was actually in disbelief that my body could decide that I was asleep while I was actively thinking.
