      Help please!

hi everyone, i'm new to Dream Views and the whole lucid dreaming thing in general and i have a question about WILD. Ok so i've tried to WILD a couple of times now and each time my body gets tingling and numbness and feels very heavy - all part of sleep paralysis right? but i can never get any further than that. I never get the hallucinations or anything. I've tried things like visualizing, hoping that will get me in deeper but it hasn't worked. Any suggestions?

I too am new to this. But, from what I've read, it sounds like maybe you are too conscious. I am not totally sure this is correct, but my view of it is that you need to be conscious, without working or stimulating the part of the brain that is your consciousness. Knowing this has helped me a little, but it might be wrong. Could you private message me if you find a solution?

I try to 'hold on' to the feeling of the numbness.
Although, I guess the more you try the better you'll get at it.

Once you get SP fully or do a WILD successfully. You will get a good awareness of how it feels and it will be easier from then on.

You are getting close, but not close enough. You want to get yourself even more relaxed. There are a couple things you can try, depending on what is going through your mind.

If you want to hold onto that tingly feeling , try to imagine the feeling of your body sinking into the bed, or rocking back and forth. Don't actually move your body, just recreate the feeling.

If you find your mind is racing too much and keeping you awake, let yourself drift toward sleep a little, then focus again. Kind of bounce back and forth between keeping yourself focused, and letting your thoughts drift like they would as you fall asleep.

Also, make sure your timing is right. For simplicity, assume you need to be entering a REM dream cycle as you WILD. You want a dream there for you to enter. If you try this at the beginning of the night, or when you are not close to a dream, you will probably find yourself stuck in a trance without any dream to enter.

I also suggest using the WBTB technique. A good time is 5 and a half hours of sleep. Wake up, write in your dream journal if you remember any dreams (though you might not because it's a bit early). Then, for about five to ten minutes, do medium intensity brainwork (read, write). Lastly, give the WILD a shot, and it might be easier

Thanks so much for replying guys - and for the good advice I'll give it another go and see what happens. I guess the key is just practice. thanks again!
