      n00b questions...

      Hello,
i am a newb at this whole topic for the most part but i had alot of questions about WILDing.
      1. Is it "better" or "easier" to do than other techniques for induceing LDs?
      2. Can n00bs do it?
      3. What does comeing out of SP feel like if you ddidnt WILD and failed to LD?
      4. Is the above a valid question or is it impossible
      5. And i am kinda over all confused about the Haalucinations, can someone who knows what they are doing and has done this before please explaine this to me. (what happens, what they are like, how to ignore them)???

      Thanks

      1. Neither. Some people find it impossible to DILD but find WILD easy as cake, some people see it the other way around. Try different techniques and combine them.
      2. Yes.
      3. Waking up from an SP can feel like waking up from a dream. It just happens. Lots of guides and forumtopics on SP around here. Use the searchfunction.
      4. Yes...it's answerable if that's what you ask.
      5. Again, lots of guides cover this. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia

      Hello, Thanks for the help!

I tried to WILD three times now. The first time was last night and the other two were today at around 4 pm during a nap. (are these decent times to try and WILD (i didnt get very much sleep last night))
Both times were about exactly the same.

The first two were the same. I layed down in thw position that i normally fall asleep in and i stared and focused entirely on an object. I did this for a while and then i entered SP. I layed there like that for about ten-fifteen mins and nothing happened. The first time i fell asleep and the second time i gave up and tried again. Every time i woke up i did reality checks.
      1. should my eyes be open or shut?
      2. what was i doing wrong?
The third time i did it i had my eyes closed and i got to SP but yet nothing happened after that.
      1. what am i doing wrong?

Afternoon naps are great times to WILD. If you are trying at night, make sure it is after a few hours of sleep. You might even try a Wake Back To Bed, where you stay up for a bit in the middle of the night, then return to bed to WILD and continue your night's sleep.

You definitely want your eyes shut during a WILD. You do actually have to fall asleep during a WILD. You just keep a part of your brain active and aware while you fall asleep.

Don't worry about experiencing Sleep Paralysis. It does not always occur during a WILD. Everyone's hypnagogia is different. I rarely experience the same thing twice while WILDing. There is a general pattern, but sometimes I get stuck in SP, sometimes I exit my body like an OBE, and sometimes I just drop right into a dream without any transition at all.

Keep practicing, don't give up, and don't get frustrated. Think of it like learning a new skill. There are no failures, only experiences to learn from. The more you practice, the more you will discover what works for you.

I find that if I spend a lot of time waiting or expecting something to happen, then it never does. I suggest not focusing so hard on expecting something to happen, and just let it happen, if that makes sense.

      Thanks for your help!
I also read an article on this site that should help.
I will try some of these things over the next few days!

wow, i was so close twice last night but my body and technology played two annoying tricks on me.
First- I was just about to fall asleep and i got a delayed text from my friend saying goodmorning. It was like two and he sent it the other day but my phone just happened to pop into service.
Second- I was really close and all of a sudden i had to sneeze.
