      FILD! The AKONO WAY

just my take on the FILD

This technique should be used as an alternative to a DEILD, in the fact that it keeps you a little more aware while going back to sleep. For best results, learn to wake up naturally after a dream without setting alarms.

      My take on the FILD

Alright...it starts after I wake up after my last dream. I don't open my eyes, I don't get up, I just lay where I'm at.

First thing I do is start thinking about the fact that I'm going to LD. I do this until I feel like I can't feel my hands or feet. I really don't worry about the images that are in my head at the moment, cause they happen randomly for me, and probably none for others. Now in turn this gets me a little to fired up for sleep, so I start to Move my fingers like the FILD technique. Minute movement of my index and left middle finger. While doing the FILD movements, I notice what parts of my body still need to be relaxed, and I let them go limp. It could be my face, my feet, or other things, but I make sure nothing on my body is tense while I'm doing the actual FILD movement.

Then I'll get what feels like I'm rocking back and forth. When that happens, I'll stop the FILD, and think about nothing. Normally, imagery or sound will start. It could be anything from a voice, to light, to "miniature dreams". If I don't renter the dream then, I'll go back to the finger movements one more time...to get it where it feels like my body is vibrating, and stop again. And think about nothing...from this point either I'll enter a dream, or rinse wash and repeat.

      Key points:
Get Comfortable: Just make sure you're in your normal sleeping position. Don't try anything different or fancy.

Stay Relaxed: when switching from the FILD movements, to regular WILDing, you need to stay relaxed as possible. Sometimes I'll even tell myself "relax", and stop breathing for a second...not hold my breath...but I wont inhale after I've exhaled for a couple of seconds. Make sure that your mind isn't focused on anything during that moment.

Know that it's going to work: Get your confidence up like at least 2 hours before you initially go to sleep.

Don't worry about picturing a scene: I wake up in my room Lucid, and I really don't care if I'm not at a beach or outside in a picture perfect day. I'm lucid, and it's go time!

      Summary
The whole key to it all is to keep your mind alert during the wild phase. The finger movements are used to let you know what part of your body you need to relax...NOT to enter the dream. You just alternate each and when you get back to that WILD part...just let go of everything and hop straight into dream land lucid. If you ever feel things going on that may seem like it's leading to a dream while you're FILDing...STOP movement, and think about nothing.
