How much time does it take?

I was just wondering, when you WILD after WBTB, after how long do you fell SP, and after how long do you see HI/HH, and when can you safely do a finger through palm reality check? Just a rough estimate. It could be helpful in overcoming those tides of impatience that come during WILD for most of us if we knew that.

It takes a while usually. Around 45 minutes for me for sp. But i am not very good at wilding. I've only successfully done it once or twice, but sp isn't too challenging. For me, i know i'm about to enter it when everything sounds funny. I just hear what to me sounds like being outside during the night. But usually i fuck up and i can't get farther. Hopefully you can. I just need the time for it, and the will.

Neither am I very good at WILDs, and I mess up due to impatience. :/

It can vary drastically. Once I just laid down and BAM! Went right in to a dream.

I envy you! I never had a BAM! and an LD. Too bad.

The only time i ever "bamed" was when i woke up in the middle of the night on accident. I lifted my head an inch and went straight into a dream as my head fell back.

The trick is being close to REM. The closer you are to REM sleep, the faster the WILD.

Personally, I do most of mine during naps on days where I got less than 5 hours worth of sleep the previous night. It makes my technique a lot easier, and I'm usually able to enter the dream very quickly.

I see. Well, I will try that, because as you can see, I suck at WILDs.

Interesting that you mention that, I was just thinking about WILDs during naps. I usually sleep on the couch during those naps and it just happens that I fall asleep, so, that is likely the reason that I forget to WILD

WBTB 5-6 hours after you fall asleep if you aren't already

I can't fall asleep again after being awake for a couple of minutes (5-10 mins), so I was wondering if it's possible to try a WILD immediately after waking up using WBTB? After waking up in the early morning I feel so tired I fall asleep right away after closing my eyes. I wonder what happens if I try to stay aware of whats happening to me (falling asleep) when I fall asleep right after begin woken up by an alarm clock. Maybe it's possible to enter a lucid dream right away, or there's also the possibility I'll be to tired to stay aware of the situation.

Is there anyone who tried this before?

You could try a FILD if you sleep right after waking up, like me.

Interesting that you mention the 5 hours there. I can attest to that. I've practicing CAT ATM and waking up 1.5hr is making me a bit sleep deprived. Yesterday, I slept about 5hr or so and got up and went about my daily business. A couple of hours down the line, I was feeling a bit tired and sleepy, so, I just laid on the couch and relaxed. I started to go in and out of sleep(hearing kids' voices speaking vividly). Eventually, I had a dream where my vision was panning out and I got scared and woke up. I slightly opened my eyes at which point I realized what was happening and I went along with it. Crazy sounds, colors and I saw what looked like dream hands forming slowly after losing the feeling of my body. Eventually, I got nervous and woke myself up. My point was that I've tried WILDing after 5-6hr of sleep and I've never gotten close to yesterday. Maybe sleeping only 5hr and then doing some work and sleeping afterwards(basically a nap) is the best way to WILD if WBTB doesn't work as well for someone

I find that if I stay awake for a half hour after waking from sleep, I can't fall back to sleep. That's why WILD does not work for me. FILD is great, though.
