      I almost had a WILD but got scared. D;

      Last night I got partially paralyzed while I was sleeping. I couldn't move anything but my face, fingers and toes. I had read some freaky stories about old hags and hallucinations and very uncomfortable experiences earlier that night so I chickened out and woke up by twitching my fingers, toes and face muscles really fast.

      It's okay though, I ended up having a really good DILD later on.

      Next time I'll try doing the same on a weekend morning - maybe it'll be less scary.
      How else can I overcome the fear?

      (yes I know none of the hallucinations are real but nonetheless it's creepy)

      Oh and one more thing.

      I sleep in the same room as someone who is a SNORER at times. They won't admit that snoring is annoying and they won't do anything to try and stop. I try to stay still during the snoring, but even if it's very soft I find myself becoming increasingly irratated and I can't dream. :c

      Guinevere, I can suggest a couple of things. First thing is mind over matter - You know the the hallucinations are a construct of your mind, so if you can get yourself relaxed and try your hardest to keep that in mind, the hallucinations might not seem so malevolent. Number two: As they are hallucinations, your mood, mental state and thoughts can change and intensify what you are experiencing. For example, if you allow yourself to become very scared while in sleep paralasis and you are hallucinating, chances are the visions or sounds will become more intense and scarier.

      On to your other point - You actually might be able to use snoring when you are trying to WILD to your advantage, like some people leave a fan or the television on when they WILD to try and keep them more aware. Otherwise, they're just an ass for not admitting they snore and trying to do something about it .

      Yeah I can see how it can be reassuring, knowing I have someone else in the room with me "just in case I need them". And I happen to be related to that ass.
