Well, there's 2 explanations of it, there's a spiritual explanation and a biological explanation for it.

The spiritual explanation is that feeling coming from the head is the divine light, universal life force, Qi/Chi, Reiki, consciousness, it's happiness, love, yogis call it "Kundalini". There's tons of different names for it in different cultures.

The biological explanation is it is a natural hallucinogenic typtamine called DMT being excreted in small amounts from the pineal gland. This is what causes hypnagogic imagery/hallucinations and dreams.

When you flex that muscle does it feel like a sort of "mini-high"? If you fall asleep with that "muscle flexed" you will witness sleep paralysis and HI and be pulled into the dream automatically.

I know keeping that muscle flexed is hard, but practice it. I did it before and got as far as HI, It's a euphoric feeling.

Your pretty lucky that you get a "falling" feeling, you must excrete more than me, I only get that "falling" feeling when I try to WILD and sleep paralysis sets in. When i flex the muscle in the brain, it just causes a chill down the spine. If i do it enough my body kinda shakes and i might get a twitch. But it defiantly feels good.

I'm guessing more melatonin will cause an increase in DMT production.

Are you serious...holy crap! I was just expecting some, "Yeah, we ALL feel like that ALL the time" kind of response. I feel so lucky now. But when I keep it "Flexed", my eyes start to twitch and all these things happen that I feel would make SP impossible so I've never tried to keep going. If you don't mind, where might have you stumbled across this information yourself and do you believe the spiritual side of it?

What happens when you keep the muscle flexed?

      -------

Well I did have 2 experiences. I laid down in bed, cleared my head of thoughts, and meditated this one time, I flexed the pineal gland and sent down the electric wave through my body, and "very intently" focused the wave or awareness on a part of my body like my arm, and it felt like it actually vibrated. I didn't think it was really vibrating, but my consciousness/awareness was on it.

There's this other thing, when I constantly flex the muscle in my head while laying down, for at least 4 or 5 minutes, it starts to vibrate, or like resonating and it feels good. That vibration in the head happens every time we go to sleep i believe.

I don't want to say how this is even scientifically possible because I know the skeptics will come in here and bash my head in. I tried to look for a scientific explanation for this, but i couldn't find anything.

And this isn't just us, everyone can do this, everyone can learn how to do this reiki thing if they learn meditation and stuff, i still don't completely understand ReiKi healing. Although we can naturally flex a muscle in the head, everyone can get this feeling. The pineal gland automatically sends out that electric volt every time you are happy. When you watch your favorite movie, or listen to your favorite song, or get your first car, or even in some social situations you will get that jolt of excitement/happyness. I know this sounds really hippie lol, but it's the only thing that explains it to me.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
Now that is what it really feels like, a life force energy flowing through me when I induce the wave. But that article says you can learn how to tap into an unlimited supply of this energy, I'll look more into this later.

But yea tell me what happens when you flex the muscle in your head.

I think you are onto something here. I laid down in bed and focused on going to sleep. When I was getting there I flexed this thing for as long as I could, then I kept doing it and before I realized, I was noticing vibrations in my arm and chest. I'd say vibrations of ~ 5 Hz (If I had to document this thing). I'm not sure because I've never successfully WILD'd, but I'd say it parallels other's SP testimonials nicely.

Who else here know about this? Is there some technique that uses this or are you a pioneer?

I have to say that there is a surprising lack of documentation on afternoon LDs. I've been focusing on trying to have an LD in the afternoon for the past week and a half or so. Yesterday, it got the point where I was seeing really really vivid HI, but like a fool I tried to control it and it slowly deteriorated.

At any rate, my attempts are always incredibly relaxing, even when I fail, I feel like I just woke up after 9 hours of sleep and the bed is incredibly comfortable, so I think I'm on the right track. That, and this is good practice for trying to WILD in the middle of the night too, since success in the afternoon will mean I won't get overly excited in the night.

Oh yea, I think I know what you guys are talking about. I've used it in much the same manner, but the second I let up, I seem to start gaining outside awareness again and ruin my attempt. It seems like its almost like pseudo SP, but I could be wrong.

      "I feel my heart glow
with enthusiasm which elevates me to heaven; for nothing contributes so much to tranquillise the mind as a steady purpose--a point
on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye."

When your laying down in bed, clear your head of thoughts, relax and take some deep breaths and lay with a clear mind for a moment. Then focus(place your awareness) very intently on a part of your body( I.E. arm, leg, etc.). With a clear head and good amount of concentration and whatever your awareness/attention is on will vibrate very subtly.

      ----------------------------------------------

As for WILDing, I also noticed that to WILD it is really important to relax..it's key. Most of us breathe shallow rather than Diaphragmatic breathing. Diaphragmatic breathing is much healthier. It allows you to take in more air and to breathe it in more deeply, causing stress reduction and anxiety relief. Breathe from the stomach and lay on your back when you attempt to WILD, sleep paralysis will occur much faster. When you lay on your stomach you can't fully do Diaphragmatic breathing.

Fattoxthegreat, again, can you tell me exactly what happens when you flex that muscle in your brain. Does it feel really good?

Have ever smoked cannabis and had sexual intercourse, the heightened pleasure you feel is supposedly the same energy that comes from the "head muscle". In no way am I condoning the use of drugs by the way mods.

Here is a claim of that head muscle being a connection to some "divine" source. I know this sounds really new agey , but just bare with it for a sec. Go to this passage and control+f ( find ) the phrase "For the first time, I felt a muscle within my brain flexing, and sending out energy on the same frequency level as the pleasure I was experiencing." http://www.geocities.com/brother_ali/psychic-head
