      Attempting to WILD

Last night I tried to WILD for the first time properly.
I laid down in my normal sleeping position, eyes shut and counting my breaths to keep my mind from falling asleep. However, I fell asleep.

Anyone got any extra tips I should try before trying tonight?

      Cheers,

      Calum

Well, you are supposed to fall asleep. That is the whole point in WILDing. The key is to fall asleep consciously. I like to let my mind wonder and passively observe my thoughts, over counting. This allows me to keep my mind aware as my body falls asleep naturally. The key to that is, to not focus too much attention on your thoughts or you will not be able to fall asleep, but at the same time focus enough attention so you don't fall asleep unaware. I suggest giving this idea a shot if counting doesn't work out for you. Just let your mind wonder, and casually/passively observe your thoughts. Allow for many changes of thought and don't stay on a single thought too long. Good Luck!
