Well, I go to bed at 11 and set the alarm for 5 am, with my regular alarm at 7 am. But this hasn't been working so well so I'm trying to figure out when my REM cycles begin. As for SP, it's an elusive art. To me it feels like you have to let parts of your brain go to sleep, while keeping the center awake. If you try to stay awake, you'll just lose consciousness. Other than that, I'm still learning too, good luck though.
