New to LD- WILD also failing to transition

So i hope i could get some feedback here.

I am able to relax my whole body quite quickly. And i start to notice a calm feeling and deeper more relaxed breathing. After this i mentally pass a curtain to enter what i would dub the first level of my thoughts .

In this i already am somewhat in a semi dream state where i can feel myself for about 15-20% inside of the dream. I can roam freely and last days i imagined pushing a few levers in a control station stating words like ' stay aware' , ' deep sleep' and ' enter dreamworld' .

Shortly after my body starts going into the transition mode where I have strange sensations like my body floating or spinning. However, after this i seem to get kind of stuck. I seem to get in a situation where my body is sleeping but my mind is aware ( of reality) . Which is interesting but i cant figure out yet what exactly would push my mind into the dreamworld.

      Any tips?

I think your body floating or spinning meant you were fully in a dream, especially since this floating or spinning took place shortly after imagining something. You may have thought you were still in reality, but keep in mind it's possible to have a dream that's similar to reality.

If you feel your body is floating or spinning, but you're not sure you're dreaming, you can do a reality check to determine whether or not you are fully in a dream. For example, you could try imagining something such that if you dream about what you imagine, you could be sure you are fully in a dream.

I have always enjoyed my WILD attempts. Even though I have mixed success with true WILDing, the process in itself is very rewarding.

When I get to a spot where I am close but stuck a bit as you describe I just roll into my sleep position and let sleep come. That generally leads to some degree of lucidity. Actually some of my strongest lucid events have come from what I consider to be aborted WILD attempts.

Don't let frustration sneak in to your mind.......there are many more nights to practice.

No i dont think i was dreaming frankly. It was more like feeling these body sensations while still aware of my position. My mind didnt make a transition. Im suspecting it should come at that particular time.

Yeah you are right. The least i get is a faster sleep time, which is great for me. Except when i wake up in the middle of the night, the method didnt get to me sleep. I was too restless and aware of small bodily discomforts. Practice makes perfect. I suppose

      Hey there,

I'm by no means an expert in WILDs. I've had a good few over the years, but never in any great frequency, so take what I say in that context please.

I do recognise the sensations you describe. I often have them myself. I've always believed the are the physical sensations of my body falling asleep (particularly the sense of equilibrium in this case). When going to sleep normally I generally do not notice them, as by the time I experience them my mind is already groggy enough to either ignore them altogether or gloss over them when I do have them. When I'm actively trying to keep my mind awake however, that's when they come into sharper focus.

Unfortunately, they seem to hinder rather then help. I believe the process of falling asleep happens when you cut yourself off from physical sensations (hence why its so hard to fall asleep when you have a sore throat, for instance). The 'floating' and 'spinning' sensations however are, in my opinion, very much physical sensations and they are hard to ignore. So they pull me away from that fine line between sleep and wakefulness I needto WILD (back into the direction of full waking). In other words, when I have them while trying to WILD, its a clear indication that my mind is yet 'too awake'.

Instead, For me, WILDs happen when I'm asleep enough so that I start seeing hypnagogic imagery and being able to hang on to that "shadow state" between waking and sleeping. I sort of focus on the imagery, keeping my mind conscious, and they grow into full lucid dreams. When I experience the 'floating' or 'spinning' sensations, the best thing for me to do seems to be to either try to ignore them (easier said then done!) or try again later.

      Just my 2 cents,

      -Redrivertears-

      Hi

Yes, also had a similar sensation, as if the transition awareness actually pulled me out of my thought/ dream begin. Now it felt like my body was sleeping but my mind was kind of on the wrong side. It stayed in the awake side while the rest of me was sleeping. Anyway, i wont quit trying, good night

Are you sure you're in REM? I've experienced similar things when I try to WILD either right when going to bed or after a cycle has ended.
As for the sensations. It's always about finding the fine line between staying aware but relaxed enough to enter sleep lucidly but not getting excited and too awake, so you get stuck and start again. The vibrations are kind of interesting and scary but you dont't want them to kick you awake again 3 or 4 times bevor you manage to fall asleep!
That happens to me a lot at least

This probably won't be of help to you, but I find it easier to ignore the sensations if I'm lying on my front - I've never managed to WILD on my back, I'm just too alert. I do tend to risk falling asleep, though, so that's the trade-off for me.

Thank you all for the helpful info. However, after more experience i believe Wild is not the way for me. The technique i did use to try i have now taken as a technique to fall asleep faster which is really a blessing for me.

I am swinging more towards DILD now ( i know, not in the right category anymore) as i do seem to dream quite a few times and i remember them but i have to teain on my reality checks. I think sporadics attempts at telekenesis throughout the day.

Take a strong look at SSILD as well. I always go back to it for LD induction.
