Question This Mornings attempt at WILD

So I don't really start my day till 9:30 am but I get up around 7:30 till my girlfriend leaves at 8 and then I go back to sleep with the hopes to WILD. This morning I laid back down and got comfortable and stayed as still as possible not moving even my eyes, focusing on my breaths and letting my mind wander. Soon found myself drifting off into visualization... now I have a hard time comprehending this, when ever I notice the scene or that something is actually being visualized not just me sitting there thinking of lets say a tree and trying to see it. I just snap right out of it and am left back at the start with my thoughts and the blackness of my eyelids, however if I don't make a connection to the fact I'm visualizing ill just get caught up in the dream. Today, during my attempt I was in my room and I was looking at my sofa that was placed against the wall when its actually supposed to be in the middle so I made the connection and this distorted "wub" noise started getting louder and louder until finally I felt like I was falling and then I was snapped back to my thoughts and my eyelids again. I was happy to have made progress at least.. How do I get around my little dilemma?

Not necessarily a dilemma. However, It's slightly frustrating when this occurs, believe me, I've had first hand experience with these jolts of awareness.

Even getting to the point of passing through different dream scenes is a nice achievement. So well done

The only way you will be able to overcome these jolts, is through practice. From my personal experience, when your attempting the WILD, it sounds as though you are letting your consciousness stray too far from 'you' during your relaxation. Then, when a dream scene appears the little bit of remaining consciousness is like "HEY A DREAM!!!" - This sudden realization is too sudden. It basically jumps our awareness back into reality.

When you're passing through these dream scenes, your very close to becoming unconscious. It's key to (and this will sound kinda weird, but you'll get it) Consciously hold onto your consciousness. You mustn't allow it to be overcome completely by the unconscious. You probably didn't even know you had lost it, until you were jolted out of the dream through a sudden realization, and woken up, right?

Through practice, you will become better at allowing your sub/consciousness drift and not let your mind become unconscious. Out of an engraved desire to become lucid through this state, falling asleep, even momentarily, won't be an option. You'll need to keep your awareness, but only a small amount. If one is too aware, they cannot dream. If one is not aware, they're sleeping

For now, I really encourage you to create your own dream scene. It will do wonders when learning everything how to induce a dream scene, submerge into one, and stay in one.
