      Odd and very frustrating problems

Today, I was attempting a midmorning WILD. I layed back, and within seconds I began to experience SP. SP for me has always been rather unpleasant; often I feel like I'm "sandblasted" and shake out of it repeatedly because it just "feels" as if something bad is happening to me. Is there any easy way around that?

And here's my second problem. I did see some success today. But this often happens to me while I WILD; I'll like imagine a scenario in vivid detail and even begin to see it. But, all the while, I just think it's all a daydream and that I haven't entered the dream yet. It isn't until after I wake that I realize I was dreaming all the while and not just imagining a scene. Has this happened to anyone else, if I was able to sufficently describe it?

For the first part, your SP sounds a lot like how many other people experience it too. But you just have to try and deal with it. Experiment a little bit. See if there is something you can do to not focus on the SP, and try not noticing it. (I'm not sure if that is even possible. I'm just passing on what I have learned. I haven't had a WILD)

Now for the second part, before you think that it isn't a dream that you just formed in, do a reality check. From what you say, you are always getting into the dream. You keep doubting yourself though. Try to remain confident, and do not doubt you are in a dream until you have performed a reality check.

Here's another thing about my morning WILD attempt: I did do a reality check, a successful one at that. But despite the fact that I had been successful, I kept thinking that getting up would wake me up because, I wasn't fully convinced I was asleep. The room around me looked like the room I was sleeping in and everything, and I still thought I was daydreaming the entire thing. It wasn't until I got up that I slapped my head and realized, it WAS a dream!!

This whole thing is difficult to explain, since it's such an unusual scenario. But what the problem appears to be is that I may be too worried about SP and may not be paying enough attention toward the idea of being lucid.

The entire morning was largely a mess because I had no jack shitting idea what I was doing, so I pretty much ended up everywhere. What exactly can I do once I enter SP to get the most success with this method?

I think success lies in repeated experience and acceptance of the process. SP is not so much a coveted state (or a negative one), but rather a transition that lets you know you are very close to your goal. Personally, I've come to enjoy the sensations, but from time to time I want out as well. You just have to keep experimenting with it - what you are trying to do is a bit of a balancing act - remain asleep and yet aware at the same time.

I used to get confused about false awakenings too, but now I'm good at dispelling them with solid reality checks. Again, patience and practice are the key points.

Sounds like you are doing fine, just keep it up!
