      was this SP?

This morning i tried a WBTB at 5:00 in the morning and i think it went pretty good.

My alarm went off, i got up and got a drink of water and went to the bathroom, went back to bed and tried to WILD. I was laying there for a long time and then all of a sudden i just felt weird, i suppose it could of been described as falling? but it wasn't a bad case of it. Also its hard to explain but everything started to feel like it was further away e.g the TV in my room didn't feel like it was next to my bed it felt like it was like 20m away? Then about 5 mins after everything calmed down again it felt like an ant was crawling on my hand and then it bit me and my hand went all tingly and had a sharp pain coming from it, and then i started to get paranoid about ants and i thought i felt one moving on my leg, i ended up moving my body to kill the ant but it was pitch black so i dnt know if there was one or not.

But now that its morning i see no ant bite or anything, its not even sore where the ant supposedly bit me? In SP can people feel like things are crawling on them? Was this SP?

I don't want to sound like I'm certain about any of this, but it does kinda sound like you were just being aware of the natural phases in falling asleep. I've read (and it's too late to find citations, sorry) I believe in several places that the when your body's bloody pressure drops (that may be completely wrong, but you'll get the idea) as you fall asleep that you feel the sensation of falling, as we all have I've no doubt. The rest could all be explained by a standard pins and needles sort of thing, or possibly a particularly peculiar dream. Maybe just try to relax more, and not concentrate on your own body as much.
I'd rather be asleep and living than awake and dreaming.

well, SP is probably the most misunderstood and misused acronyms ever created lol . SP is simply the paralysis of your body while you are awake! if you were able to immediately smack the ant, then your body wasn't in SP. if you were in SP, you wouldn't have been able to move. about the falling sensation and all that, im not sure, that might possibly fall under the Hypnagogic Hallucinations category, although i could be wrong. hope this helps!

You were having hypnagogic hallucinations. SP is just when you can't move and you're asleep. Sometimes hallucinations accompany it, but it's not necessary.

      Ok thanks for the help!

1 more thing that happened was after the falling and what not i think i did start to see things but it could of just been me trying to see things but i thought i saw a few letters moving around and shapes, I did see the letter F apear quite clear infront of me, it wasn't a normal F it was writen in that "graffiti" writing. Oh and when i did move to get that ant i felt all tingly all over from not moving for so long

Anyway i will get the hang of it in the long run.

Isn't SP also the paralysis of your body while you're asleep and dreaming (so as not to act out your dreams)? When the timing is off between your body switching that off and you waking up (i.e. you wake up, but your body is still in paralysis) you notice SP. Of course in WILD it happens that you notice yourself going into SP while you are still conscious.

oh, im glad you asked that! the exact definition of SP is the paralysis of your body WHILE you are awake. when you go to sleep, your body paralyzes itself so you won't act out your dreams, this is called REM Atonia. the most common form of SP is most commonly found when waking up, as you noted. so the only difference between SP and REM Atonia is whether you are awake or not! hope that helped!
