This morning I was experimenting with WILDing; I wasn't seriously expecting it to work, I was just doing it for fun to see how far I could get.

I've been reading a lot on here about how it can take up to half an hour before you experience sleep paralysis, but I seemed to get it almost straight away. Is this normal? My feet started to feel numb and tingly after only a few minutes of lying still. Then the same happened to my hands, and at one point it felt like my legs sank an inch or so into the matress. I had a soft ringing in my ears and the occaisional popping sound coming from my nose. I was still fully aware of real life sounds though, like the birds singing outside.

I tried this a few times, but was thwarted by the urge to swallow.

The problem is, I never get any hypnogogic imagery, so there is no dream to "step into". All I seem to see is strange pulsing colour patterns. I seemed to be able to control these patterns to some extent. I have had hypnogogic imagery before though, when not attempting to WILD.

Would a dream have eventually formed if I'd kept still for long enough? I know for a fact that the SP wasn't fully complete, I had no strong vibrations (although I had a couple of minor ones) and didn't feel really heavy, like some people have reported.
