I have not been in SP in a long time, but how awake are you when you attempt the WILD attempt?

Try sleeping for five hours like your first attempt.

hmm, while, it's technically true that you should try to WILD anywhere between 4-6hr, I've found that in my attempts to WILD 5hr into my sleep, it just doesn't work. I tried for 30minutes at one point and just couldn't fall asleep :\

Try reverse-blinking. I tried it, and it actually works to get you tired.. In the case that you aren't tired when you wake up.. This happens to me.

      I recommend you reverse-blink.
Basically, all that is, is closing your eyes, and opening them for a second.
Do that 5-15 times and you're eyes should feel like rocks.

      Hope this helped,
      -Dave

It's a technique that other dreamers use, its not just me
I just thought that maybe incorporating it into your process/ method might help a bit.

Clearview is correct, although, I usually reverse blink really fast until I can't anymore

That works too, although if you try to hard, you may fall asleep.

You never know, I was widely awake one second doing a WILD, the other second I am sleeping as if I have been in a sleeping state for 20 years and I would not be awoken for another 20.

Note that the OP stated he actually got progress when he slept for 5 hours. His other attempts were around 4 hours. Naturally it would be better to go back to what has worked for him in the past.

Thats true. However sometimes its also better to stick with one method for a while. Akono is correct, keep aiming to what works best for you. That way, you will find what works best, and what doesn't work so well.

Again, everyone has different qualities, prefrences, etc. It's hard to determine hard facts, rather than COMMON facts. Everything happens differently from one another. SOme people like DILD, and some people chose WILD over it. It is all their prefrence.
