So does your sleep paralysis slowly increase to 100 % or do some people just not have 100 % paralysis? |

Change your breathing pattern. This will alert your body. You can also give yourself self hypnotic suggestions that you can move since SP is deep trance. The breathing change should work everytime though. You can hold your breath, hyperventilate, take really long breaths, etc. |
