      How close was I?

OK, I know it's supposed to be really hard to WILD when you first go to bed. But it's the only time I have any hypnogogic imagery, so I thought I'd try it.

I reached sleep paralysis and had this feeling like I was slowly rolling to the left. I felt like if I went any further I'd end up falling out of the bed. I waited for a while, but then all the SP sensations just stopped. I waited a bit longer but nothing happened. In the end I gave up; opened my eyes and did a reality check, I was still awake.

Was I nearly there? I'm pretty sure this is the closest I've got so far.

I have done the same thing, however I felt different effects.
However, I don't think that its possible to lucid dream by doing it "right" before bed. Try combining a WBTB with a WILD.
I haven't had a lucid dream yet either, but I'm working at it.
As for SP, that only happens to you by coming out of it because it just doesn't work before you haven't been asleep yet.
Try waking up 3-4 hours later. I think that is the problem, but if anyone has any other answers that would help a lot of us, i am a novice.

The other day I woke up and I was SOOOOOO tired more than usual. So my mom let me stay home and I stayed in my bed playing Fullmetal Alchemist game on my DS (Because I was awake then) then I got tired and laid on my side. Then after a while I felt the heaviness. I hear a LOT of voices and a thousand whispers getting louder and louder. Then I thought I heard a bang from in the kitchen and I got brought out. Did this twice then fell asleep...

Yes, the sleep paralysis is often loud for me, and when Its something like a loud bang, or if some actually drops something in the kitchen, I usually get brought out as well.

I tried it again this morning, after waking up, and got even closer! Sadly I lost conciousness before the dream properly started though...

and I also have a question as to how close I was...I started feeling like I was floating on water, does that mean that LDing was close? Or I start to feel really warm.

Yes, when you feel like you are getting warmer and floating on water, you usually start to feel like you are sinking through your bed. It feels like diving down in a pool when that happens. Quite a good feeling actually. But not as good as the "transition"

Yup. You sound pretty close. What I'd suggest, and what I usually do (or try to do) is try when you first go to bed, and if that doesn't work, just try again when you wake up. c:

Usually its not possible to do before you go to sleep. This is because you are not going into REM sleep. Although, naps are great for WILDing, and others because all naps are REM sleep.

REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement, and it is a stage in sleep. If you have any doubts or questions, check out the tutorial section here: http://dreamviews.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=25

I've gained lucidity from going right to bed. I can't do it from WBTB cuse I go unconcious, and my other method is MILD. I was curious about feeling warm cuse it's a new SP symptom for me.

Hmm. Well then you've got a great skill. Doing it from going to right to bed is awesome.

I don't have much skill. I just got so used to doing that. My mind just had the easiest time with it because of my insomnia so it worked pretty well

Mmm. Well then keep it up

I like your sig line, "look out dragon slayers, here I come".
In my lucid dreams, I would like to spawn/summon my favorite cars and drive them.
I haven't had a lucid yet, so I don't really know what the clarity is like. However, I have heard that it feels exactly like real life. From that, I then deducted that, that is why False Awakenings occur. It becomes so real, that you feel as if it is real life when you wake up in FA. Anyways, keep dreaming.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing. However, last night I think I had a lucid dream.
I remember rubbing my fingers with my thumb, thus feeling my skin, and thinking "wow, this feels so real - now I know the clarity of a lucid dream!" - it's hard to remember how clear/unclear your dreams are, but I am pretty sure that last night felt like real life except stranger.
I also think that if you focus on something, everything else becomes vague. Your mind only creates what its attention is on.

Also, in my dream, I was having a lucid dream. I thought I'd fallen asleep in my lounge and was dreaming. Weird.

AND, I did a nosepinch RC in my dream, which shows that doing it more in real life really does make you do it in dreams!

MythicDreams, this is because when you do it in reality, you are forming a habit. If you do it frequently then the habit will form and you will always do it in your dreams and have frequent DILD's.
