      Unique wild experience?

      Hello fellow dreamers!

Today I decided to try the WILDing process regardless of my previous failures. I ended up choosing to focus on my breathing while laying on my stomach and not trying Yoshi's technqiue because it normally makes me end up sleeping. After all I'm pretty sure it only takes an average of 7-8 minutes to fall asleep. Yoshi says lay still for 10 so that normally doesn't work for me. So while I was focusing on my breathing I also tried juggling in my mind to relax. I can't juggle and have no idea why I even thought this. try to stay with me on this next part it's kind of tricky to understand. Randomly the juggling vision disappeared and subconsciously my brain created a new vision with out me having any control. It was some random guy in a pool. He would push a buoyant water noodle down into the water then let it float back up whilst guiding it with his hands. He would push it down to a certain depth that would match the length of time of my inhale. Then he would let it float back up abruptly to match the exhale. This repeated for a while until I fell asleep. I forgot to mention I was also convincing my self to try to DILD upon awakening. So when I awoke I was sure that I took a 2-3 hour nap. I convinced my self not to move and started feeling the tingling sensation of sleep paralysis! I immediately tried to think of a scene to fall into to. The first thing that crossed my mind as random as it might sound is an ocean. It's easy to picture I guess was my thought. But instead of just imagining the ocean, I also pictured my self swimming in it which made me 2 excited and I woke up. To my amazement I realized that I've only been laying down for 5 minutes!

Does anybody have any explanations/thoughts on any of this? The last time I thought of an ocean was a few months ago and was probably because of school. I live in Minnesota so it's the last thing on my mind. Maybe the vision with the guy pushing down the water noodle some how correlates to my thought of the ocean? Any input or thoughts is welcome.
      Please discuss!

Sounds like you were close to a successful WILD. If you'd have tried to stay calm I bet you would have succeeded. And the pool image sounds to me like partial dream entry. When ever I try to WILD I can easily get to the partial dream entry stage where you can see the dream forming, but then I get too excited and wake myself up

Good job with the ocean visualization. Keep trying!

It wasn't me pushing down the noodle it was like I was observing some super strong yoga man do it. I think it was the yoga guy in Couples retreat. Is it strange at all that my brain created the movement to match my breathing?

No, I don't believe it is.

Trust me, I have had my subconscious come up with a lot of weeeeiiird things while I'm WILDing. Sometimes I don't even seem to be myself... I was a 20-ish blonde chick working in a restaurant once (while I'm much younger and brunette).

Haha thats pretty funny and unique. I'm really interested to see what else my subconcious is going to come up with. So if my brain is having one of these visons. How do I transform it to me going into the dream? I understand the scenary part where u imagine your own and fall into it. But i'm a little confused on how you would change one ( like my breathing water noodle one) into a dream.

Don't worry about it changing into a dream, and it will. If you try really hard to make hypnogogic imagery into a dream, chances are it won't happen. Let yourself "drift into it". Try to just sit back and enjoy whatever happens. You WILL fall asleep and you WILL go into a dream. All you have to do is stay conscious.

Is it possible to wild into a dream then not remember it?

I'm sure it is. That sure would be unfortunate, to WILD and not remember!

It would be hard to forget though, probably.

Well after WILDing would it be more like a dream memory or a real memory put into your subconcious since your aware while doing it.

Entirely? I'd be surprised, but I suppose it's possible.

I can see how one would partially not remember, though. In my experience, WILDing has been so detailed that upon waking up, in attempting to remember all the details of one part I start to forget all the rest!

Just be sure to set aside enough time with WILDing so that when you wake up you can just lay there and think about the dream a bit, I guess.

Mastermind suggested in a different topic that maybe If you drink energy drinks ( like me ) The Sugar high was enough to keep me mentally aware during the WILDing but once I actually fell into my dream, I would crash and then be in such a deep sleep from sleep depravation that my dream recall could be totally trashed. any thoughts?

Well...you could try finding a new favorite drink, I suppose. Personally that's what I would do.

But if you don't want to do that, you could try something like a MILD mantra aimed at dream recall, or during the lucid dream you could take a moment to find one thing in particular that you feel confident will stand out to you in your memory and really try to engrain that thing into your head. I've done both of these before with great success.

I'm sure that i'd remember a WILD I just like going over everything that could go wrong just to make sure I know all the variables! I like the idea of really focusing on one thing during the lucid dream. Hopefully once i get my first one i'll be able to concentrate enough and not get to excited.

That excitment as you mentioned will kill your LD, like it somewhat did to mine, but, I think it is a good idea to know all the variables. In terms of forgetting LDs, I think I've forgotten a couple myself, likely DILDs and I doubt you can forget a WILD easily

I don't know if this happens to anybody else, but for some reason, WILDing makes me sweat like crazy. I mean, the sheets are literally damp every place I'm touching when a WILD is done. So I know I'd certainly realize it if I WILDed!

WILDing should be easy to remember because it isn't a dream memory until the dream actually starts.

Lol I can't say I've ever really sweated while attempting to WILD at all. Are you really tense when your trying it? The only time I ever really sweat in bed is probably in the summer since I live in Minnesota. If your scared of WILDing it could make you really anxious and maybe cause sweating.

nope, I can honestly say I'm not the least bit afraid of WILDing. I love the whole experience, personally. It's exciting, IMO! Maybe that's why I sweat
