    1. LD#154: once in a two moon

by , 01-08-2015 at 02:16 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was playing with legos. Somehow or other I had legend of Korra lego figures and I had made a spaceship that all of the main characters could ride around in. I was doing that thing that you always see kids doing with Lego spaceships where they spin in circles and run around making laser gun sounds for no other reason than it could be done. I was really enjoying myself as well.

I was playing outside at night for some reason. I believe it was summer.

Just then I stopped. I noticed that the moon seemed to look strange.
It seemed like there were no craters and the whole thing was just flat gray maria. My view seemed to zoom in on the moon. It came back to me, and I thought of how strange it was. Then I noticed that there was a second larger moon right next to it.

I thought for a second about what that might mean and realized that extra celestial bodies was a common dream sign.
I preformed the nose pinch. Dreamin', baby! I had good lucidity too.

I looked up at the night sky. It was a clear night with no clouds. I thought about the stars for a few moments. There was a very bright one (might have been a planet) right above me.

I realized that I might want to try and stabilize the dream, seeing as I've been losing my lucid dreams a lot this past week or so. So my first priority was to get daylight. I tried my old trick of swiping the sky like an Iphone screen, but it didn't work. I tried swiping it the other direction and it still didn't work. I tried swiping it north-south (though this makes no sense) the sun came up directly south relative to my house.

Just then the dream started to destabilize. I laid down on the grass and grabbed onto it with both hands. "I will not lose the dream, I will not lose the dream, I will not lose the dream, I will not lose the dream, I will not lose the dream!" I began to feel like I was spinning. A golden light passed over me, and I phased through a number of blurry environments but retained the grassy bed below me.

I got up and pulled up the grass. I put it in my mouth to try to stimulate taste or maybe hold onto the dream a little longer, but it tasted like having metal shards in my mouth. I spit it out to see that the grass was in fact a bunch of small X-acto blades.

I looked around. I was in a perfectly flat meadow. All around me were equally sized and spaced tombstones. They were huge, about ten or twelve feet tall, and they didn't have any writing on them. And they were all on forty-five degree angles leaning toward a huge tree that the sunlight shone through. There were a couple of clouds in the sky.

I began to feel Manei was somewhere in the dream. I felt like I should focus on her, bring her forward, but the dream was slipping quickly.

"I want to know why the dream is so unstable!"

I began to lose the dream again, and let it slide this time. There really was no point if it was going to fight me this hard. I did my best to hang on to staring at the huge tree.

    2. LD #117: Distrust and Barriers

by , 10-04-2014 at 04:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am having some dream about being on a tropical island. I am supposed to be exploring, looking for the best sand dune (dream sign), for some reason, I think I was doing some kind of project for a travel agency where I was supposed to photograph a beach with a nice sand dune in the background.
There was a very weird part of the dream where It became nighttime was OOB and looking at myself. Bicolored eyes: check. My hair was weird in this one, it was stripey. Parts of it were a light brown and others black. Even though I was OOB, my body had a mind of its own, and said something like 'I look like a stripey cat!'
It became daytime once more, and at one point, I decide (with it being a hot, tropical day) that I should take a break from trying to find the best sand dune and go swimming. I get into the water. I see a family (including Manei) swimming in the water. At first, I assume they will just ignore me, but then, her mother comes over.

      "Puedes Habla Espanol?"
      "Ah... Un Poco."
The entire family begins swimming to shore.
She then repeats some question several times until after we have made it to shore. The dream translates to a feild, surrounded on all sides by trees.
      I become fully lucid.
Manei's mother is there, still asking me that weird question. I don't know what she's saying, but I know it's a question. I kept saying something like "No habla espanol, por favor" when she was clearly not speaking spanish anymore. I tried asking her to say whatever she was asking more slowly.
As we continued talking, the dream began to change from the beach to a clearing in the forest. The area felt vaguely familiar, but it looked unrecognizable.
Manei says something to her mother in the indecipherable language. Somehow, even though I didn't know the language, I knew what she was asking; for her mother to leave.
The two of us sit down and face one another. Oh, yeah and this is Manei we're talking about, the world's weirdest dream guide. So she changes her form into a very young version of me, like about five, and starts ripping up handfuls of grass and eating it. I try and think to remember what I wanted to ask her, worried that I wouldn't remember why I pushed for a lucid. But I remember easily.
"So I already know your name. What is my dream name?"
Her voice changes over. Hearing her voice out of the mouth of a five year old boy is hysterical. "It translates to 'Letting my friends go down alone.'"
Okay. Negativity. That voice isn't funny anymore.
Okay... I probably should have asked why my dream-name has such a negative translation, but I had another, more important question. I can't remember exactly how this part of the discussion was worded.
I reminded her of when I first started lucid dreaming, and told her about how my dreams back then seemed much less cloudy and confusing. Now they seem sort of glitchy and disjointed. I carried to to ask her about why I no longer dream about 'typical' situations such as appearing somewhere nude or being late to class that I used to get lucid in all the time.
"Well it's because me and the others don't trust you very much, and we don't want you coming here too often." (She shoves a big mouthful of grass into her mouth and smiles.)
She starts talking in that 'language of thought' to explain this sort of barrier thing that makes it harder and harder for people to lucid dream by making them more and more distracted in their dreams. Apparently this can go up in levels, and I was at level 12. Apparently the barrier serves a dual purpose for me, and is also used like 'weighted belt' training for lucid dreaming, but 'They' were using it to lock me out this whole time, constantly raising the bar so I would always be struggling to LD. She also eluded to the idea that one day, she would remove it and I suddenly be having these amazing lucid dreams.
"Wait... what? I've been with you for three years and you don't trust me? And you and some others are stopping me from getting lucid because of it?"
I talk continue to her with thoughts: You've done nothing but trust me for three years. When did I ever indicate that I couldn't be trusted? What does this even have to do with anything? Who's 'We'? Why is my dream-name so negative?
"You gotta help me get lucid again (more easily) so we can sort all this out. Deal?"
She glitches back to her original form, and looks at me reluctantly. The dream is fading now. Before it fades, I say in thought: How am I supposed to fix this if you hinder my very presence? She goes in to shake my hand and the dream fades out.

    3. Building Something

by , 11-02-2012 at 01:45 AM (Lucid Time!)
A fragment involving my visual imaging class at my tech school. We had started using this really complicated software and we were asked to model a cube. Then we got asked to model master chief's armor and I freaked out due to the sudden difficultly spike in the assignments.

Some dream. Vivid, about me being at my grandparent's house. What was strange was that there was a stairwell that led down below their house. When you came down the stairwell, that was very long by the way, you would end up outside. The stairwell went up a hill and there was a door that led up into their basement, but their house was not on top of the hill.
The stairwell ended at the start of a "road" cut into the hillside. The road was only identifiable by the fact that it was really nice, well groomed grass. The rest of the hill was taller grass and shrubs.
I began moving various building supplies down from my grandparent's building and traveled between their basement and the hilltop several times. Most of what I took was lumber, some sheet metal, and some electronic components.
I began building a vehicle to travel down the path for some odd reason. I vividly remember hammering boards together, welding sheet metal and assembling electronics. It seemed to take me about half an hour, and there was no shortage of building supplies or tools.
The final vehicle was pretty decent, though it didn't have any wheels or means of flying. But it started to slide down the grassy slope and I held on. I had traveled down the slope about 50 and decided to stop.

    4. Wasp Battle

by , 04-21-2012 at 11:23 PM (Lucid Time!)
I slept over at my cousin's house last night. I can remember having several dreams last night, but my cousin woke me up by screaming and jumping around so all that I was able to recall was this:

I was in my front yard. It was obviously summertime, because everything was green and the trees had leaves on them. There was this guy. I can't remember very many details but I think that he was very short and had a beard. He told me about this giant wasp that I had to fight or something. He told me that I should not kill it or let it sting me, just fight it.
The next thing I knew I was running though my yard and there was a giant wasp chasing me. I can remember it having bright red stingers and a yellow-and black striped body. It was about 2-3 inches long.
At first all i could do was blow it away. I seemed to have a really strong breath that could not only blow the wasp away, but it would create winds that were blowing some of the leaves off of trees and stuff.
Eventually I picked up a big stick and stated whacking the wasp with it. I didn't want to touch the wasp with my hands otherwise it might sting me. My plan was to whack it and stun it so i could get away. I kept whacking it every time it came close but eventually I missed and it landed on my neck and stung me.
I felt a slow, aching pain spreading from my neck and I woke up.

I suppose this dream sort of goes in with being in a park/forest as a dream sign.
