I'm excited that you're trying out this technique!
I never quite figured out how/why it worked for me. I think maybe it removed my fear of waking up, because I convinced myself that any time I did, I would just be in the previous dream.
I've noticed that a large number of my LDs end in FAs, which I've been better at recognising lately. It especially happens when I feel like I'm losing control or the dream is losing its vividness, it kind of seems like a "reset" function. Maybe that's why setting up multiple layers worked so well for me, because I knew straight away that it was just a "reset" and I could keep dreaming. And when I'm not restricted by awakenings, it can often feel like I'm lucid for hours. Not sure if that's it though, just a guess.

Can you tell me more about the thing your were trying to find? Are you asking your dream for advice?

I had a dream last night that featured a lucid/shared dreaming chat session - I bet it was incubated from reading this dream! I can't remember who was chatting apart from Ophelia so I'm not sure if you were online.

Wow lol. Reminds me of once when I "gave up" on a WILD, got out of bed and everything just felt really weird and floaty which brought me to lucidity.

Yeah, I am usually less surprised about wilds, but for some reason I didn't even think I was close to sleep.

My thoughts pretty much go like "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, HOLY CRAP I AM DREAMING!"

Haha, I love it when this happens. Too bad the surprise makes it hard to hold on to.

Did I ever tell you about that weird non-lucid dream I had a while ago where you and I were supposed to be getting married (with Canis as our celebrant) but I got cold feet and realised I only loved you as a friend?

Hmmm... it did actually feel like a wild. Especially in the fact that the other world still existed as "waking" in my mind.

Isn't it so funny how the dream-within-a-dream lucids work in practice? I've had a very similar experience where I fall asleep in-dream and achieve lucidity, but when reawaken to the original dream's scenario, the lucidity has vanished, and I go back to the old scenario and state of mind.

Did it feel like a WILD when you went into this lucid dream? I need to try setting a really strong intention to in-dream WILD again! It seems to work every time I manage to try it!

Thanks nyx. I think that I sum my fighting up too much when typing it out. Need to expound on the fighting more like I did in the end. I tend to forget a lot of fighting in my LDs from a couple years ago due to not typing enough up.

I had a dream about fogelbise a while ago where he played the opposite role, teaching me some kind of new dream skill. Too bad you didn't get to meet that version of him!

Haha, no not really. No persistent realms besides waking life ones. I do love caves though. That was my attempt at a joke.
