      Question about SP frequency

I've only had it once in over a year of dream journaling and trying to get lucid. Is that a problem? What am I doing wrong?

If by SP you mean full body paralysis, when you can't move no matter what, then you are not doing anything wrong. Simple because you don't need SP to lucid dream, not even to WILD. I have had around 30 WILDs and 30 DEILDs and not one time have I felt immobilized. Some heaviness, yes. But if I wanted to, I could move at any time, and in fact I have.

But if you mean vibrations, feeling of heaviness, hallucinations and all kinds of sensations, (which are not SP), then these matter only if you trying to WILD. I'm gonna assume you asking about WILD. You can have any of these things when trying to WILD. But you also may not have any of them. And still get a WILD.

So, if you reply that this question is indeed about WILD, I'll move it to WILD forum and we'll go from there.

      Moved to WILD

Ok, have you read the WILD class material in DV Academy? It should answer all your questions.

You could be picking bad time to WILD, or without prior sleep. Do you wanna describe your attempts?

Usually, I set my cellphone alarm to go off after about four to six hours of sleep or about two hours before I want to get up for the day. I stay awake for about thirty minutes. Then, lay back down, still, try not to move and wait to see a dream. What ends up happening is I just fall asleep after about 20 minutes of lying there and sleep through my second alarm. Maybe two of ten WILD attempts will result in a LD. Most of my LDs have come from relizing I'm dreaming while dreaming.

I read some of those lessons. Much better than the other tutorials here.

instead of waking up for 30 minutes. Just go back to sleep. When you are trying to fall asleep, you arent even worried about moving around or twitching your eyes. Just fall back asleep and try to keep aware using simple visualizations. Thats the only way i can get it to work. Ive never gotten sleep paralysis before so stop worrying about that.
