      Off to a good start.

Hi, my name is Chris. I'm 17 and want to learn to lucid dream. I came on the internetz in search of information and found my way here, where I learned the first step is to keep a dream journal. I put some 3x5 cards by my bedside and went to bed thinking "I will remember my dreams." I woke in the middle of the night, wrote something down and went back to sleep. The next morning, I didn't check the card right away, but I knew I had written something I couldn't remember. When I checked the card, it simply said "Jesus dino." The next night, I went about things the same way, and dreamt twice. (It's probably worth it to mention that during the first, I tried a RC and I don't remember it working, but I tried a second in the next dream that did work.) I woke up this morning with two dreams written down in more detail. I took a nap a little bit ago, and woke up remember what I dreamt during it. I think I'm starting to develop some better recall. Where do I go from here?

You have to identify your own dreamsigns...

It could be one of your hobbies or a person anything really
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

Sometimes there's like, a creepy stranger after me. I know that sounds weird. They will like, make a move to abduct me, ut when I try to say something or yell for help, I can't talk. Could either of those things be it? Last night, I dreamed my mom and I were in my Grandma's back bedroom chilling on a laptop, when a fat middle aged man walked in wearing a t-shirt and underpants. He had thick rimmed glasses. My mom asked him if he was "assigned to be in there." (?) And he shook his head. I think somewhere towards that point, I tried to push my right finger through my left palm (Reality check) and it didn't go through. I don't remember what I was thinking about during it, but I didn't look at my hands. That may have caused the fail. I woke up like right after.

Everytime you feel menaced or anytime you have to escape anything...
      That could be a dreamsign.
For your Reality check fail, be sure to have 2 in case...
For myself, it is the nose pinching and read something twice...
If you can breathe as you are pinching your nose, you are dreaming.
In dream you can't read twice the same sentence. The dream is too unstable.

As you are an experienced lucid dreamer, am I correct in assuming you've reached the point where you just remember your dreams? Because the first two nights that I talked myself to sleep saying I would remember, I did. The next night, I just went to sleep and didn't remember anything. Like, I got a journal to keep by my bed, but sometimes, it's like I just don't want to remember, idk.

Sounds like you are off to a good start

My dream-sign for a while was someone chasing me, and eventually I had a dream that turned lucid where I just ended up shaking the guys hand, and we were like best friends, which was weird. I had another dream that was non-lucid that I was running away from someone who kept up to me by only walking, but I ran into a dead end, so I beat the crap out of him. I believe lucid dreaming helped me even though the last dream was non-lucid and I didn't do what would usually be recommended (befriending your enemy), but I think practicing helped me face the fear.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you hear about lucid dreaming, or what made you decide that you wanted to learn?

If I am not telling myself to remember my dreams at bedtime, I won't remember as much dream in the morning.
But it's easier for experienced because the intention to remember dreams is set.(Dream Journal helps ALOT too)
Subcouncious knows you care about your dreams when you write them in your dream journal every morning.

I knew what lucid dreaming was and had heard about it, but hadn't really gotten into it until recently. I think it's something cool to know how to do. Just for the sake of doing it, I suppose.
