anywaywho, i'm glad the layout/theme is liked, because i've been toiling with that for sometime. 'subsilver' was the original and it was too grey (IMO); then i replaced it with a hybrid of 'bman1blue' which was too blue; this current one, however, i think is a nice compliment of the two colours.

also, a leader was chosen upon the creation of this team; sorry everyone. he's a good guy though, honest!

btw, mods are kind of considered members of all teams because they have access to them all...it works out better because if they physically join then they end up having too many 'team memberships' listed under their avatars (and then it lengthens posts too much).

Ok well since you guys like the banner I'm not going to waste my time making a new one...as if I have the time anyway, preparing for my thesis project, among other art projects, and trying to find a co-op for winter quarter. I just thought something alot better could replace the DV bubbly thing at the top. Lome, you are an awesome artist, sorry if I've offended you. It's just funny how the general public has been brainwashed to prefer relatively bad design and in fact, embrace it. ...sorry just goes against everything I've been taught over the last 4 years.

No I think this whole place is wonderfully designed. As I have said...REPETITIVELY. I love the layout. I just thought the DV bubble banner on the top could use a little work...or alot. It reminds me of a generic thought bubble...and doesn't seem to have anything at all to do with lucid dreaming?? I just think something alot cooler could be there....but alas, I have been met with resistance...perhaps I should de-join this team if everyone is going to be so closed minded about everything.

Why don't you like the thought bubble? I think it looks good :/. Maybe we can make another "lucid nina" friendly theme where she designs a logo and makes the layout. I just think his one stays as it is - any changes we make on another theme.

anyway, i think perhaps there are some mixed signals being tossed around here. i am not opposed to a new header being proposed; when i was first opting to redesign the site (when it was still the plain original one), i just wasn't sure where to begin, which is often the problem--once i get on my way it's much easier, but beginning is tricky. i suddenly stumbled upon the squares up there on another site (green at the time), pictured them blue and at the top, and suddently realized i had a beginning! i just needed a foundation in which to start, and after that i made the little grey-bar menu, and then went through some of the art that had been posted on the forum and noticed lomebririon had already done a logo that would fit in well with the blue squares, and then things kept coming together like that.

i think what we're trying to say here is before beginning to redesign things, that's get settled first. i still need to get the team leader settled in here, then the members need to become familiar with their surroundings and get organized and meet everyone, etc. etc. then perhaps ideas can start being spitballed, tasks can be assigned and delegated, etc. etc. i think coming up with a new header is a perfectly fine idea, but lomebririon may want to be involved, and also the end result would have to be approved. i really like the one we have, but new ideas are always welcome. lots of people are opposed to the idea of change in the beginning; often it helps to be presented with the potential change before one can really form an opinion.

as i stated before in regards to the theme: i'd like to keep essentially the one we have, but little improvements here and there are welcome as well (i.e. i'm not sure if i've ever been completely sold on the two different coloured blue rows that make up the table headers, etc.)



hopefully that clears things up somewhat.

Also people, I just want to say; and I hope nobody is offended, but taking a degree or course in art does not make you an artist.

Um, excuse me, but I have been an artist since I was like three years old...just because I have chosen to get a design degree doesn't make me any less of an "artist". Hey! Sorry I've been gone so long. I've had a long vacation...that involved mostly sleeping. Only one LD in the end though. But I'm back now! And now I've got a whole class period to do stuff for the forum, call it homework and GET CREDIT FOR IT? Can you believe that? Anyway, no offense to Lomebririon, but I think that the banner could use work. However, I'd say that Lom should be the head of any work that we do, since he's shown that he's more than capable of really great artwork. In fact, I'd say that he should be team leader. Well, this is how things look so far:

-We've got 1 bit of concept art for the banner, provided that we change it. Looks great, btw
-We're still undecided on if we'll change the banner
-The color scheme stays. PERIOD. I likses it too.


So what else are we going to do? We haven't really talked about any other ideas.

Well; It'd be cool, but I think Aphius will do a fine job as Art Team Coordinator. Ice chose him, i'm fine with that. I'll still play a large part in the work we do though.

Can you tell me honestly why he's more appealing as a leader than me?

Aphius - They probably haven't seen any of your artwork (you don't display it as much as Lom (I think?).

P.S.: I too would like to know what is wrong with the banner. The simple "dreamviews" text in the bubble shows how we all like to live in our heads here ^^. I don't see what is wrong with it...

Actually, I think he might have just posted that before he read the whole..."Aphius is your new team leader" post and probably didn't realize a leader was already chosen? At least that's how I took it...
