Sure you can wing a story. Sometimes plotting (more likely overplotting) can hamper the fun and suck the energy from the whole process. |
Only got one paragraph at the moment (but a fairly sure outline in my head). It starts with: |
I've still not started yet, thinking about doing so now. Yay for lighthearted yet violent supernatural adventures? |
Yeah, haven't started but I know what I want to do. |
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Are we posting out stories here or in another thread? |
Guess I should get started on this. |
I just started and had a really good session. Got page 1 of what I expect will be around 8. |

Well, I started and got one page so far. I'm looking at around 15, maybe even twenty pages, I hope. I think I'm off to a good start, though. Unlike usual, I'm starting a bit slow and building up with this one. I think it'll turn out good. |
So anyone want to give a few details on on their story? |
Sure, just nobody steal my somewhat clichéd idea. Mine's sort of a cross between National Treasure (the characters are similar, I'm going to try and keep the same lighthearted yet big-picture tone, etc.) and St. Peter's Werewolf (great book, from which I'm borrowing a lot of elements). A treasure hunter/archaeologist finds an artifact in Scotland, while in search of clues to something else, becomes a werewolf, struggles with this, and uncovers a quite big...something. I can't tell you what, or it would ruin the story for you. |
Awesome MoS =) I look forward to it. |
Mine no where near that long, mine would be classified as a short short story I think, it's three pages. |

I'm thinking that if there is a good host, someone can just take all the submissions and put them into one folder for easy access. I think it would take up an awful lot of space to put them all here on DV. Also, I'd like to be able to print them, as for some reason I just have a hard time reading extended pieces of text on the computer. I'd rather be able to look at them on paper and also make marks on it if I feel like it. |

I need to get to cracking on mine; I still haven't written any more past the first page. |
Same here, and what sucks is I've got so much damn free time and I just waste it. Procrastination is teh suck. |
I actually got round to writing a portion of it yesterday and it was less enjoyable a process than I had hoped. But still, some of it is done. About 15% I'd say. Trouble is, the character's been in my head for a while now, and he's accumilating more stuff as it goes along, but I can't express a lot of it in a concise way, so it comes out as either vulgar brute-force statements or overly-decorated waffle. |

Well that's some great imagery lol. |
Indeed, great imagery IDX. I decided that given the time remaning, I'm shortening my submission to roughly five pages, which will cover up to my character's first kill as a werewolf. That way it centers more firmly around the topic at hand, anyway. I will be writing more of this story, however, and posting the rest. |
