I am a senior at high school. I have trouble making decisions about what to do with my life. I feel like I could be happy doing all sorts of things, but it would vary due to different situations, even in the same field. But I don't even know what field I want to go into. I have to decide, so that I can know what to major in in college. How do you go about picking field that you will spend the rest of your life working in, at 17? I like technology, but so does everyone else, it seems. I am a good problem solver. I have been thinking about a a career in radio or TV or other media. I am on my high school's radio staff and I like it. Not the on air part, but behind the scenes. Perhaps I will get a degree in mass communications. But, on the other hand, I want it to be as open as possible, what if I decide that I hate it after I try? Decisions.... |

The situation you describe is difficult. There really is no way for you to know right now what career path you should choose. You might like the idea of something, but in practice you would realize you don't. You could spend 3 years in school, and only then, when you get to the bones of what you would be doing for the rest of your life, you realize you hate it. And it could be the case that a certain career would be perfect for you, but it would be nothing you've even considered doing. |

Yeah man haha. I was kidding though... mostly haha. But, a cool field for someone like you to start in would be math. First, you need problem solving. And second, if you decide you don't like JUST math then switching into any other major field will be a snap since math is the most important part of many high paying and interesting jobs. |

I graduated high school like five years ago, and I still haven't made any decisions about what I want to do with my life. |
