I'm seriously wanting to take a few lessons and practice until I'm as good as I can get at it. I'm not a basketball/soccer/hockey type person - in fact, the only sport I've ever taken was soccer and that was in grade three, and all I'm taking right now is dance. But I'm very lean and have lots of endurance that I think will be great for parkour.

Questions, how do I get my parents willing to support me in parkour? After all, it's not a typical "sport", especially for girls. What exercises should I start with to get in shape? How can I go from practicing on mats and bars to actual stairs, railings, and walls without hurting myself?


Any other tips, tricks, and suggestions are welcome.
