      Tell Me About Headphones!

I'd like some good headphones for my iPod, around £50 = $100. I don't need epic bass, I just want good quality sound. I'd like 'em to be round the ear, closed. Ta!

The best headphones I've ever owned were Bose Noise canceling. But they were probably about $300. (They were a precious gift that a past dog got into a chewed up after a couple of years. Boy was I pissed!)
I get [complete] earaches very easily and most headphones don't completely cover my ears. Where they press down causes actual pain. Maybe I have big ears though lol.
I've been trying to be content with the earbuds that came with my iPad. They don't annoy my inner ear as much as other I've tried.

I would see about being able to buy them some place that has displays so you can try them on ahead of purchase.

bose are usually overpriced. paying for the brand etc.

      Sony MDR 7506

if you're just looking for sound quality, MDRs are fantastic. unless you're going over 120 american, Sony is usually reliable

are you going to be outside with them often? do they need to look good? does it ever get mega-humid?

I may wear them outside a bit, but they will mainly be for personal use at home. I actually prefer the low-fi look, I would feel stupider walking around with a pair of silver curvy things on my head. Humidity ain't a problem at all.

Although it sqeezes the price, the things people were saying about ATH M50s were sounding promising. Any thoughts?

I haven't tried them, but ATH as a brand is very promising. Up there with AKG in quality. If you can find a place to try them on and listen for a while, do it.
I'm pretty sure M50s are on-ear, and not over-ear. That would bug me, and prevents me from buying a pair. nevermind that's wrong

looks dope. you have my full support.

My friends have Beats by Dr. Dre. They're pretty expensive though, up to three hundred bucks in the US.

I listened to some Dre headphones in an Apple shop. They sounded horrid; the bass blocked out pretty much everything.

I've gone for the ATHs, should have 'em soon.

I has the headphones, they are epic.

I tried them out on Led Zep IV, it's amazing being able to hear so much more. The buzz of the amp and everything.

No, actually I don't. Do you?

I bought a pair of skullcandy headphones (lowriders) a little over a year ago for about $10. I still have them, they work great. They also look really cool. They're gold and black and shiny.

I will respond for you. "Cacophony", unless you are incredibly unintelligent, you pretended that no-name was speaking literally.

If you're really that stupid, I'll help you out. The point is; buying skullcandy is like "paying 20 bux for a can of pop", you're paying an obscene amount of money for a very mediocre product.

      Here's looking at you kid
