      Be more careful next time?

Haha. No, seriously, there's not much you can do. It's going to hurt for a while. I once bit a hole nearly straight through the edge of my tongue. There isn't much you can do but keep your mouth clean and/or suck on some ice to keep any swelling down.

Was it caused by your wisdom teeth? I had a tendency to bite the inside of my cheeks about once a month or so and the fact that they would swell caused me to bite them more. Ugh! Horrible!

If that's the case, the simple solution is to have your wisdom teeth removed.

If that's not the case, there's not much you can do. Take some tylenol if it's really bugging you, but otherwise you'll just have to wait it out.

Unfortunately it wasn't my wisdom teeth... Thanks for the support...

Good mouth hygiene and if you can reach it put some sort of disinfectant on it. Even high-percentage ones, it numbs the area for quite some time.
