As do I, but the only other pic I could find was a fat cowboy... And that picture portrayed the idea better.

What kind of arrows are you going to get?
      Bollocks.

hmm, idk. I heard that wood arrows are actually better but I have a hard time believing it.

I believe so... They can warp from weather damage, but can endure so much more use.

All the aluminum arrows I have bend or break. Plus the heads get loose on them easily. Aluminum arrows are hollow, and are basically drinking straws... If they get hit by another arrow, they usually bend, and are worthless. If they get too deep in the target, and you have to wiggle them to get them out, they can bend and are once again, worthless.

You could do what a friend of mine does. And that is, both! Buy some wooden ones, and a few metal ones. Then you get the feel for both type.
      Bollocks.

ha, I might just do that, since I am going to ask for the things to get me started for christmas. Im going to get this sweet bow made to look like the elf ones from the prologue in LOTR they said it is fully functionable even for hunting. http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/...-bow-6296.html

Hmm... There is no guide for your arrows... Which as a beginner might be something you want...

Notice the groove in which to rest you arrow? (Near where you hold the bow)

Your (extremely awesome and sexy) one has nothing like that.

I'm not saying don't get that bow. (In fact, get one for me too! ) but it might not be the best idea starting off, but then again... if you always use that bow, you'll learn to use a bow without the guide right away! So, It's up to you.
      Bollocks.

oh, I didnt know they made bows like that for long bows...interesting...perhaps i can get both..lol. but then again, I thought the hand holding the bow was suppose to double as a sort of guide for the arrow.

You just keep trying it... You use the hand you are pulling back with to stabilize the arrow. Or you can hold the bow sideways, that makes it easier.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy a bow from such a place as that, no matter how cool it may seem. It's most likely going to wind up being a crappy product. Not a positive, but just my somewhat experienced opinion. In my experience, any place that sells United Cutlery is not to be taken seriously. The product photographs are very poorly done as well. Any place that takes pride in their products will usually provide better quality photographs.

      Take that as you will.

Delphinus, what duster do you have? I've been thinking about getting a Driza-Bone for a while now, but I just can't justify the price tag yet.

I got mine at a second-hand store. I was in there looking for halloween costumes with friends, and I got bored so I wandered off and found a nice black one that fit me for only ten bucks!

I didn't check the label, and I don't really want to go searching for it now.

I appreciate the opinion...but I probably wouldnt use this bow for hunting. This one would be more for fun and just getting use to holding the bow and such. However, I did go to a store today and found Im not quite strong enough to consistently use a 50lb draw. so I guess Im going to have to go with the 40lb draw.

Yea... 50 is really a lot... I am thinking about buying a new bow... I'm just not sure where I should go around here... Being in wisconsin, there are many hunters, and there are a few hunting stores, but a few of our other stores sell bows too. So I don't know which one I should go to. Ah well, we'll see.
