      Exclamation Ask me about Vue!

Just ask me anything about any version of Vue. I personally own Vue 8 Infinite and a supercomputer for rendering my animations.

In addition to that, if you have some After Effects questions I may be able to answer them and/or point you in the direction of good tutorials.

      Vue 8 Pioneer -

Need to make a basic auditorium with stage, seats, and a flat. Flat can be just a blank square model which I can do.

Needs to be 3D so I'm not using a chart. We need views aerial, on-stage, and in-audience.

So what I need to do is simply put an elevated plane coming from the stage sloping upward around 20 degrees and build a rectangular prism with some textures I would assume?

Well, which version of Vue 6 do you have? I mean like Infinite/xStream/Pro/etc

Making a "realistic" scene in Vue takes many things correct. The right lighting model, the right terrain scale, etc.

Plus, there really isn't a way to get 100% absolute realism out of your 3d application. The way that the professional studios achieve the realism that they do is render out into different layers, and then tweak everything in a post production tool such as Adobe After Effects.

I believe that Vue 6 does not have the terrain fractal feature for procedural terrains, and this would cause a challenge in producing a realistic terrain. The solution to this would be to cover the ground in an ecosystem that consists of grass. This is the reason I asked which version of Vue you have, is because the lower end ones do not have the ability to create ecosystems.

So, with that being said; I believe you could create a procedural terrain and then hit zero edges. This will make an entire "scene like" terrain. You can then take your mouse and make an indentation in the terrain, this will make a valley like effect. You can then place water into that valley.

However, if you could please be more specific in what you are exactly trying to achieve I may be of more help to you.

I have VUE 6 infinite. And what terrain fractal feature? They are fractals. I mean, how would *you* go about modelling a terrain with the tools available to you to create a realistic-looking river.

Sorry for the delay, I have had a bunch of crap to do these last two days as well as take time to read up on a bunch of Shared Dreaming stuff.

I will get to it some time this weekend, I promise!
