      Fear during lucids

I've had a few lucids, and can control them pretty well. But, I'm always scared of losing control and having it turn into a nightmare. Anyone else share this feeling, and how'd you overcome it?

You just need to realize that there's always a way out. If your dream does inadvertently turn into a nightmare (believe me, I had my fair share of that a few years ago), the knowledge that you can wake yourself up (I'm assuming you are able to do that) should help you feel safer.

Anthrax is right. If things get too hairy just wake up. I've never experienced a lucid nightmare, but I never worry about hypothetical situations in dreams. I would try to focus on all of the positive aspects of what are happening in the dream at the moment instead of the "what ifs".

Fear is a way that one looses awareness, looses focus. no, one should not run, but learn to keep fear where it belongs. Face your fear.

Nope, never had fear in a lucid before.
John (^) has a good insight as to how you should handle your future experiences.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

Only times I fear in Lucid dream is when I fly too high in the sky...I know it's stupid...
      I am working on it...

I had the same problem. In an LD, I would fear something taking place, but this would just cause such a thing to actually take place. Very unfortunate. But now for some reason that doesn't happen. I think reading about others' experiences here and being reassured that you are in complete control of the LD helped me. More so, facing and reacting to such a nightmare would be an even better way to handle the situation.
