      The Fear of Lucids

hello my name is TylerWicker same as my username, i am 19. When i was a little kid i used to have many lucids not thinking what they really were, i many times woke up knowing how i knew i was sleeping and could do many things i wanted.

I have recently developed many fears of things that i think are stupid:
I am scared of Aliens...Yeah thats right i have a weird alien phobia like the little grey men.

I was wanting to try luciding but im scared that i will think of them and they will appear?

is there any way to face your fears or prevent this from happening?

      thanks.

      Hi Tyler. Welcome to Dreamviews!

Lucid dreaming is often used to help confront nightmares. When you are lucid, even if you see something that terrifies you, keep reminding yourself that it is a dream. The next step is usually to confront the adversary. Fortunately you are not afraid of something abstract (such as heights), so if you see some aliens, confront them. There are many ways to do this. First, you can create some weapon and destroy them. Second, you can stand your ground and demand that they tell you why they are in your dream or why you are afraid or them or what they represent. Or you can send positive energy or emotion toward them and transform them into something harmless. Lastly, you can try making them disappear by ignoring them.

The important thing is to just keep your cool and not let your fear get out of control. You do always have the last resort--waking yourself up--if things get too scary, so as long as you're lucid, you don't have to be too worried about these things getting to you. Good luck

Let me guess--Greys, right? They freak me out too. Whenever I watch movies or TV with them, I get pretty freaked out that I might dream about them. But I've had almost no dreams about them, luckily.

In any case, dreams are unpredictable, so I can't say this with complete confidence, BUT in my experience, just because you think of something, doesn't mean it will pop up in your dream out of nowhere. They're normally a little more stable than that. However, if you're walking around the entire time imagining specific scenarios where aliens might come get you, that might influence the dream plot. It's hard to say though. Like I said, you can always wake yourself up as a last resort.
