      WBTB help

I know WBTB is supposed to better your chances at becoming lucid but i just cant get it to work. i always don't stay up long enough because the first time i did it i became too awake after 45 minutes and didnt get anymore sleep which sucked because i had school later that day. the other times i get up it's usually only about 5 minutes but then i fall asleep to quickly. What are ways i can stay up without becoming too awake.

I have similar problems. Either I don't stay awake long enough for it to have an effect, or I stay up for too long and I find it really difficult to get back to sleep.
      Give me the night!
Let me be me for one last time!

It depends on your goal that you have in mind for why you WBTB. What I mean is that if you are WILDing, then you should stay up slightly longer so you do not pass out. if you are MILDing or some other technique that you don't have to be aware for, stay up shorter. that includes DILD because for that, you just need to get up briefly and do a few RC's and think about LDing and then go back to sleep.

Of course, that is just my opinion of what would work best for me, in my previous long long ago experiences. Some people may say to stay up longer for DILD because you need to bombard your brain with LD related things to make it work. Again, that may be wrong (what i just said) because in that example I am taking parts of MILD int the explanation.

And if 45 mins is too long and 5 is too short then try 20?

Sorry if something didn't make sense, I am very tired and its very late and I am just pouring out my thoughts
