Suggest features for lucid dreaming iphone app?

So I've been thinking about ways to help me in my life long goal of lucid dreams, and I thought maybe iphone app would help me.

I was thinking random ideas of features at work today that I would put into such an app, and thought of these so far:

      - Reality check push notifications - ability to set alert for reality checks for whatever frequency I want
      - Dream signs - ability to put in dreamsigns and then have a display in order of most frequent dream signs?
      - Some kind of basic dream journal functionality?

Don't know if this would help me, but I am always on my iphone so it could be useful.

Anyone got any suggestions for what they would like to see in a lucid dreaming iphone app?? Suggestions much appreciated, any any app that was created would be available free for the benefit of all dreamers!

I think an alarm that has an auto-shutoff feature would be nice. I have an app that has an auto-shutoff alarm, but it can't run while the ipod is in sleep mode. So i think it would be nice if you could make this app with an auto-shutoff alarm that can run in the background and while in sleep mode. The one i have now is way to draining on the battery and i don't like leaving it plugged up all night with the screen on. It would also be nice if the length of time the alarm goes off could be adjustable to meet the needs of the user. If you make this app and put it on the app store, let me know.

      A timer..

You can enter a time, lets say "1hr 30min", then you enter the alarm duration. After every 1-1/2hr the alarm will sound for Xseconds, then restart the timer.... Making a continues loop for the alarm.

How about a movement monitor for when you are asleep? I have an alarm that monitors movements and makes a graph for you in the morning. Perhaps you could do this so it would be easier to monitor our specific sleep cycles. (and an option for an alarm to go off when it thinks you are in r
      REM would be fabulous.)

Okay, so most of these suggestions seem to be based around a timer/alarm of some sort. Not sure how difficult that is but I'll look into it. I was going to say that the Sleep Cycle App currently available doesn't seem to be very accurate, but I just had a look at some old stats on mine and it does have a seemingly fairly accurate (based on 90mins cycles) of when REM would be occurring. I think maybe something that beeps during an REM cycle would be good; kind of getting along similar lines to the REM dreamer. Possibly as a more cost effective alternative, but not necessarily as effective.

      I like it.

      Anyone got any other suggestions??

As another feature for the app, you could put in a condensed version of some of the sticky threads here as a guide to LDing.

      http://www.dreamviews.com/f44/androi...9/#post1519895

those could probably give you some ideas.

-the timer thing w/ autoshutoff is key
-some isochronic / binaural beats stuff?

12,24 Alarm Clock Sleep Music is a good alarm app. It works very nicely because you can set multiple alarms, adjust the volumes, select from about ten sounds or use music on your iphone/ipod, has auto-shutoff for 5, 10, 15 seconds (or more if you wish), and it runs while in sleep mode. Although it does seem to use a bit of battery, maybe about 1/4 on my ipod, so a full charge doesnt hurt. Only 99 cents from the appstore (or free if jailbroken .

I am an app developer and was actually thinking of making one myself.

The one problem is that you could only target the existing lucid dream community, as you would indefinitely get bad reviews from the non-members, frustrated because they can't LD automatically just by running the app.

The iPod itself could be a RC (if you can't unlock it, then it's probably a dream).

I believe it would be possible to implement features (like flashing lights during an REM cycle for DILDING), a CANWILD alarm right before a REM cycle for WILDING.
Isochronic tones, hypnotizing mp3's, binaural beats would all be useful features too.
Even access to useful tutorials (the best from this site) inside the app would be useful.

      oh,
and a kitchen timer, white noise and a dream journal that can be uploaded to dreamviews.

      YES!

google apps should make programming for the droid super easy and rapid, once it is released.

you would def have to put a disclaimer on there about the effort and time it takes to LD.
