      Meditation --> WILD attempt...Anaysis?

      So, once again on the prowl for the ever elusive WILD success, I went for a second meditation today (using it as practice). I was using headphones with binaural beats, btw. This was about a 30-45 minute session, judging by the repeats of the binaural track. I began by simply focusing on "the third eye" (rather, just that part of the mind) and being quiet and listening to the track. After the second repeat, I started trying to get some visuals going, which resulted in little more than flashes of hypnagogic pictures. After a while of that, I moved on to trying to VILD instead, and began trying to set my surroundings, and after little success with that, I moved on to simply repeating "I'll soon be dreaming" and variations.

      TL;DR
      At this part I had a mild vibrating throughout my body (I've had stronger, but it was there none-the-less) and I'd noticed a few times earlier that I'd completely lost track of my breathing. *Here's where it got interesting, while affirming that I'd fall into a dreamstate, I was still passively watching for HI, and I got a flash of a tall tree on a mound (assuming I was in a forrest) and I was at a viewpoint below. I tried to "latch on" to the image, and I could feel my eyes begining to fluter and tried to grab with my "dreambody" (which wasn't exactly prominent) in vain...and I lost it.

      Does this sound like a correct description of the process? IE, am I on track?

      Yeah, you are on track and are getting close to it, but remember that the transition from waking state into the sleeping state via the WILD method is done naturally, which means that you dont have to actually do anything for it but just relax, try to not get involved in the process and wait till you are fully immersed in the dream.

      So how well can you WILD? you might as well say, how well can you wait for it? IMO, that is all it is.

      On a side note, the only way I tend to be able to fall asleep is through rambling lines of thoughts running through my head, and my brain sorta shuts me off...could this be a problem?

      The tall tree or 'lone tree' is a reoccurring image in many LD's . One of my mosty powerful transcendental LD's involved a lone tree in a field of tall grass. Sounds like you are on the right track. Simple visual meditations help me reach dream consciousness. Good luck to you!

      What frequency are you going down to with the entrainment? When you get a memory impression don't look directly at it as it will usually disappear. This is vey hard to do but comes with practice. What you should have done with the tree was to visualise a golden coloured square around the tree and then imagine the tree spinning as fast as you can imagine. Then imagine it spinning twice as fast as that. Then twice as fast as that again. This will stabilise the image and make it glow. Then you can grab it with your 'dream arm' and you will be sucked into a lucid.

      Well the most elusive part of the WILD is where you actually lose consciousness, the problem with this is that we dont really remember how this happens, the best I can say about this elusive and most crucial moment is to realize the signs of getting close to this, if you start feeling heavy, vibrations, HI, then be much more cautious as that moment is approaching, as you get passed that moment of blacking out, your chances of success should increase.

      Next time, dont try to latch onto the dream, your subconscious will actually do the whole thing for you, it will create the dream scene and conveniently for you, it will actually even take you into the scene and just kinda "drop" you off in that "world". So let the subconscious do those parts.

      What you need to focus on is when to start your dreaming adventure, if you start too early, it can end it, so next time make sure you are in a dream scene or even in a black void, before latching onto something or moving around.

      Good luck.
