Ok, so now to the point. I have always had pretty good recall, even before I started trying to improve my dream life, and after I started keeping a dream journal my recall became VERY good (at least I think so). My dreams are very vivid and tend to feel very real while I'm in them. I also become lucid more than what is common, I think, but I'm not able to control anything in my dreams, even when I'm completely lucid. there have been a few times where i was completely aware that i was dreaming but i still had no control over the world around me.
I thought maybe I'm not attaining a deep enough level of lucidity so i started trying to improve my lucidity. I've been trying a few different techniques (see my post in the Newbie section)
Just lookin to see what techniques the rest of you use. All tips will be greatly appreciated.
i really want to attain some kind of control. All these posts about creating characters and doing tasks has gotten me very interested
Fixed.
Anyway, control comes with time. The first few lucids are usually a bit dodgy on control, but as you get a better feel for how your personal dream world operates, manipulation becomes easier. One of the best things you can do is find a way to justify your actions. Brute forcing a dream usually isn't recommended, especially if it doesn't work the first or second time. Instead, rather than just attempting to fly, strap on a jetpack, or take flying pills, or pretend like you're Superman. Eventually, you'll build up enough confidence and belief in your control that you won't have to rely on these things, or if you'd like to continue using justification, you'll find shortcuts that make control much easier. Other noteworthy methods include Mzzkc's Archetypal Dream Control. I recommend you give it a read, here. BillyBob also makes many good points on control in his tutorials.
