PILD - The Pendelum Induced Lucid Dream

      Good afternoon Dreamviews!

A long time ago i got a great idea; let your subconcious tell you if you are gonna have a Lucid dream.
I learnt this technique when i tried to learn hypnosis. I didnt got any hypnosis career out of it, but i got a great LD technique!
How to do this? Using a pendelum. This is actually self-hypnosis. First, we need to make some preperations.
Step 1: Take a piece of paper, any size but i recommend a A4(A normal printer paper) and a pencil.
Step 2: Draw a circle, about 10 centimeters wide(This doesnt really matter, but i uses that size.)
Step 3: Now draw to lines, crossing each other in the circle. (Look at this page what it should look like Like this
Step 4: Now take a pendelum, a neclase or whatever. They just gotta get a good swing. Place it over the circle and the crossed lines. Now, we wanna ask our subconcious "When will i have a luciddream?". The answers are: When the pendelum goes forth and back, it means "Tonight". If it goes from the left to the right, it means "Tomorrow night". If it goes clock-wise, it means within a week. If it goes anti-clockwise, it means "within a month." Write that down.
Now, take the pendelum back and forth, ans say for yourself "Tonight". Then from the right to left, saying Tomorrow night etc etc. This inprints your minds the answers. You might wanna do this a few times. Now place the pendelum in the middle of the circle. Now ask yourself the question "When will i have a lucid dream the next time?" or something like that. Dont move your arm. Now, your arm will slowly move your arm to control the pendelum, giving you the answer. Remember, this is not magic. Its just you. You can actually say "Whats my name on Dreamviews?" and make up a few answers. In my case, it would point out "Zelzahim." But this also means, if your subconsious doesnt know the answer, it wont tell you. After some training, you wont need the paper. Pretty cool isnt it?
I really believe in this one. Remember not to afflict the pendelum at will, neither try to hold your arm too still. Just make it relax.

This has given alot of lucid dreams, and you can be one of them!

      Happy hypnosis,

Interesting, I might try it. But I am a little confused on what you do.

the answer will be different to what time of day you "ask the pendulam." The earth's rotation causes the pendilam to rotate at different angles during the day, just look up Foucault pendulum
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

I don't exactly get how you make it, or how it answers you?

This do not play in, since it is your arm that is making the pendelum swing. It probably swing with 100 of times more.

Did you see the link? That is what you should draw.
It answers you by making your arm move, causing the pendelum to swing answers. If it swings back and forth, it may mean "Tomorrow".
You can ask it anything(With different answers ofcourse) like; Is my cellphone black?
Then back and forth may mean "yes", while from right to left means no.
If your cellphone is black, it will say yes.
Since it is your subconcious, you cannot make it answer things you donot know. Like is Barack Obama asleep now? You probably doesnt know that, so it would say "no".
Was that explained enough? Otherwise you can add me on MSN at [email protected].
      Cheers!

Unless my mind knows the future, wouldent that be something the uncoincious cant answer?

Btw I tried it, and I got the answer "Tomorrow" so I guess ill found out.

      What? This is beyond stupid.

Your subconscious can't predict the future. It doesn't know when your going to have a lucid dream any more than you do. It's a passive form of intelligence, not a genie.

And even if it was, how is it suppose to tell you through a piece of paper and and a pendulum? Why would it express itself through subtle movements of your arm?

You seem to be beyond stupidity, since it seems like you cant even read.
Come back when youve read throught this thread, since ive already answered that question. You sir, is and idiot.

Scamschool gave a good views on this, thank you r2d2651!
Tie something heavy to a string, or thread a ring onto a necklace. Have your friend hold the pendulum even with their chest, and make sure their arms aren't resting on anything. Tell them that "yes" will be indicated by the pendulum swinging in a straight line forward and backward, and that "no" will be indicated by it swinging in a circle.

Here's the amazing part: Tell them to keep their hands still, and only think of the "yes" and "no" motions. Whichever movement they are thinking of will occur, even though they're holding the string still! This is called the ideomotor response: whatever people visualize, we make small, micromuscular movements in accordance with. We don't consciously recognize these movements, but when they are amplified over the distance of the pendulum, they become a surprising effect we can see. This is the core principle behind all forms of dowsing, and makes a pretty amazing trick.

Did I say we should get rid of the scientific method? Not again! Nevermind me, it's easy to see how someone could get confused with my previous statement. Let's get real here, MANY people mistake this:

I've seen future events in dreams. And not 'vague' future events either
      for this:

We should throw sticks at wildlife instead of using the scientific method
As we can both see, this is a pretty logical mistake and I am to blame. I can definitely see where you got confused and I apologize! I shall never share a personal experience in an attempt to destroy the basis of science again!

How do you get from reading his post that he is saying his subconscious is predicting the future?

Although I see the theory behind this method. Your subconscious is in a way, telling you what it has "in store" for you, like a surprise!

      Exactly! Good explanation!
Then you will most likely keep thinking about this, which may keep you thinking when dreaming.
After the first time, and it hopefully worked, your getting more confidence. Then it is even easier to get one.

Personally ive got 2 LDs with this technique and 1 strong hint in a dream, and ive only tried it 4 times.
You should probably use it with another technique, like DILD or MILD, since this is more of a support technique.

I was alluding to the last time we had an argument. Having a tough time with sarcasm, much? Don't worry, I'll help.

Don't worry, I don't have anything to say to someone who's one agenda is to start fights! Especially those who ask(ed) for it in their signatures

Hey, maybe you'll find someone else who'll play your game though, you never know!

To those of you who are serious about a real discussion, very interesting method OP. Have you tried it yet?
