An alternative method is to repeat the mantras for a few minutes before getting into bed, but it has to be the last thing that you do. Sit in a comfortable position and focous on your mantras, then go to sleep and try to clear your mind. |

I never use a manta... I ask myself periodically during the day 'am I awake or in a dream' . Sometimes I find myself asking the same question in a dream which then becomes lucid. To lucid dream I use simple visualization techniques , thereby stimulating the secondary visual cortices in my occipital lobe. This is the same area where dreams occur. We visualize and dream in the secondary visual cortex. About a dream journal... I have one but I also have a bedside recorder that works better for me as it is faster then writing down the experience. |

You can also say your mantra throughout the day. I find the more you say it and pay attention to the meaning, the more you LD. |
