Nightly routines that could help? Please read.

Hello everyone! So, I have not had a lucid dream yet. I have been trying for months, but it's hard to do so with a busy schedule. I go to school for about 7 hours a day (not including staying after school) have homework, chores, etc. This leaves me with only a few hours of free time per day and only 6 or 7 hours of sleep. Once summer starts up again though, I plan on trying even harder.

I was wondering if there was a certain routine I could do every night for about 30-60 minutes before bed that could increase my chances of getting lucid.

Do any of you guys do this? What's your routine?

I have a vacation coming up in a week, and I plan on using the infinity software to have my first lucid dream

Is there any mp3s I could listen to? Any foods I could eat? (I'm already eating peanut butter, and it's actually giving me pretty vivid dreams. lol)

      Thanks

I always go to bed about 30min earlier than what I plan on falling asleep. In this time I tell my self "I lucid dream" and I go through what I do in a lucid dream. I think how I first stabilize by touching and seeing this and using all my senses. Than I think what particularly I plan on doing in my next Lucid dream. Than as I get more tired I tell myself that I am about to be dreaming and I will remember to do a reality check and notice anything weird.

Get out of my head lucidpony. I am in the same boat as you and I swear that as I was turning the corner onto my road I was thinking about making a post like this. Basically I want to know what everyones routine is at night and during their WBTB. Everything that you do to get ready for a nice night of dreaming. For instance, I need to stop smoking cannabis 3 hours or so before I go to bed, so that to me would be part of my routine. Any info would be great, and thanks alot for making this post lucidpony, I was just about to

You shouldn't do anything to exciting before you go to bed so you can let your self calm down. Do something relaxing and non stresfull. Stretching your muscles right before you get in bed can help you feel more comfortable and help you fall asleep. Like peanut butter, apple juice is also said to make your dreams more vivid. Meditating is also recomended to clear your head and focus your intent on getting a lucid and completing your goals. I read this threade about wrighting your whole day down like you would a dream in your dream journal to clear your mind of all the stuff you did that day.

Thats all I can think of, I guess you can incorperate some of it into your schedual.

I've finally had some success with a MILD routine - I do it as part of my bedtime routine, as well as whenever I happen to wake up.
This is what I do: I go to sleep when I'm tired, get all comfy, relax and let go of my concerns. As I relax more deeply I visualize myself back in a recent, interesting dream, and as LaBerge suggests in his book ETWOLD, I relive the dream in my head and tell myself that the next time I'm dreaming I'll remember to recognize I'm dreaming, and then I imagine myself becoming lucid in that dream. Then I imagine doing what I'd like to do the next time I'm lucid.

I repeat the process for other recent and favorite dreams, so by the time I fall asleep I've visualized myself becoming lucid in a variety of dreams. And again, I do the same thing after waking up in the middle of the night or early morning, which is actually how I got my first lucid. I really enjoy the process, I have a LOT of fun with it and I look forward to it each night. Inspired by arby, I visualize everything really vividly, and I imagine using all my other senses as well.

Hope that helps. It's not the least bit new or revolutionary, but it seems to be working for me so I'm running with it, and again, I really enjoy the routine.

meditation, yoga, stretching, juggling and most importantly thinking about great past dreams, and concentrating on your recurring dreamsigns. things that are physically tiring can help, but strenous exercise can stop you getting to sleep well

1 go to bed 2 hours early

2 wake up 3 hours early

      3 perform wbtb

      4 lucid dream

If you're looking for magic LDing exercises good luck! I don't know of any more effective than a solid technique. This is probably your best shot, WBTB puts you're LDing chances on roids ( I know this from tried and true experience)
