I honestly find it difficult to understand what you're trying to say. But I think you're trying to say that you become overrun with emotion and therefore wake yourself up. As for what method people used to control their emotions will sharpen senses I would say the best way to control emotions would be to simply command them to go away. As for sharpening senses you can also use commands such as 'heighten senses now!' Or focus on something, within the dream, and really pay attention to its touch, smell, weight, and also involve your other senses such as sight by focusing in on small details. By doing this the dream around you should certainly sharpen up the come into focus maintaining a realistic dream.
