      WBTB how long to sleep?

      Hi.
I've had this question for a while now, I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
      Sooo....

When you try and WBTB, how long would it be best to go to sleep for. As in, would it be better to sleep prior to the WBTB for longer, or would it be better to sleep for less.
I have also had problems trying to get to sleep recently.

      Thankyou.

Well generally you want to sleep around 3 hours before waking up, with the goal being to wake up before you enter REM sleep. It can vary a lot between individuals though, it takes some trial and error to find that sweet spot.

+1 to Raphael. I also find that the longer you can sleep for before, the more vivid the dreams are when you go back to sleep after.

This is the rule of thumb I use based on what I have learned. While we can slip right into a dream at the onset of Delta (right when we go to sleep) we usually dream in 100 minute cycles with dream intensifying through the night. The best time I have found to wake, in the middle of the night, is about 3 hours and 20 minutes (200 minutes) after you have gone to sleep but 5 hours (300 minutes) is good also. Hope this helps!
