      Question Question about auto suggestion.

Hello everybody, I have a quick question regarding auto suggestion and MILD.

In his book, Stephen La berge, says to resolve to wake up after every dream period and recall your dream. What exactly does that mean? Ive been telling myself before sleep "I will wake up after every dream, and remember my dream." That's not working so well.

But later on, theres a chapter about auto suggestion, it says something about auto suggestion being uneffortful and then the prospective memory part is more efficient.

Well, when he says, resolve to wake up after every dream and remember the dream, doesn't he mean tell your self a bunch of times that you want to do that? Which sounds like auto suggestion to me, but he calls it "remembering."
It also confuses me because in step 3 of the MILD, he tells you to keep telling yourself to notice your dreaming, over and over, until you fall asleep, which sounds like auto suggestion, but he calls it, "remembering" to notice when your dreaming.

So, while I fall asleep, I tell myself "I will wake up after every dream, and remember my dream" is that wrong? It's also not working at all.

      -Any help is appreciated, thanks!

After each dream (REM cycle) your body wakes up. But most people aren't aware of it. but if you pay attention to it you should be able to wake up right after a dream and right it down your dream journal... Me i just use an alarm to wake me up during nights.

Don't be confused about auto suggestion or remembering.. the important thing is that you wake up after the dream find your own way that suit you best.

Ah ok. When returning to sleep, he says to tell yourself to remember to notice when your dreaming. Do I just keep telling myself to notice when im dreaming?

you could do that but it's not 100% effective

I think it's best to think about recognising dream signs (think about each and single one of theme) and your intention of becoming lucid. do some vizualisation.

A better methode would be to assossiate lucid dream to something (some sort of reminder) ex: think about how you use to remember thing: do the dishes, wash your self, wake up when the alarm clock goes one (you assossiate obligation with object and more...) these are things you do naturaly. By using anchore you can do exactly the same thing in your dream. but in order to work you must practice during day time. My anchore is a song... everytime i hear it i think about lucid dream and i perform a RC.

You can developpe multiple lucid dream anchore to increases your chance of becoming lucid.

Anchore can be an object, an habit, a personne, song, felling it doesn't matter. the important thing is that it makes you think about lucid dream and it's reliable.

But again you need to find what works for you.. just be oppen minded that way you'll increase your lucid count
