I had your problem, I was restless and couldn't fall asleep in a reasonable amount of time. In my case it was because of worries and being very stressed. I think it's important for you to find the cause of your problem first so that you can fall asleep easily. About WILD I'm not an expert, I only had one but do you know when did I have it? When I didn't look for it I was lucky, I know but every time I wanted to WILD I found my intention to do it was preventing me from falling asleep and I ended up with horrible sleepless nights. The one I had was after a WBTB after 5 hours of sleep ( I suggest you not ever to try WILDing when you first go to sleep, 99% won't work) my awareness was pretty high, I didn't think about WILDING, I just relaxed and out from nowhere I started having Hypngagic Allucinations. I don't know if this technique is for you or not, it mostly depends on how you're performing it and the quality of your sleep.
